The Best Ski Resorts in Wyoming

The Best Ski Resorts in Wyoming

Wyoming is known by many as a giant playground. Best defined by vast plains and the Rocky Mountains, it is home to the famous Yellowstone National Park. For skiing enthusiasts, the fun starts when the snow comes in. Below are some of the few but amazing ski resorts you can find in Wyoming.

  • 1. Jackson Hole

Located 15 miles away from Jackson Hole Airport in Teton, Jackson Hole resort is Disneyland for experienced skiers. The main mountain, Rendezvous, features nothing but long black runs. Nicknamed ''The Big One,'' it boasts of a massive 2500 acres of skiable terrain with 4139 feet of vertical drops. The ski resort on steroids is adequate for beginners having 40% of its runs marked intermediate and another 10% is for novices. It is best enjoyed by hardcore skiers and daredevils eager for that one epic run. You really have to visit this resort at least once in your life.

  • 2. Grand Targhee Resort

Tucked in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, the Grand Targhee Resort is set on the Teton's gentler western slopes. With its 500 inches of snowfall per season, it ranks among the top five ski resorts in North America. With an impressive 3000 acres of skiable area, including a 2.7-mile long run trail, it is a winter wonderland. There are also a lot of activities you can enjoy here during the summer.

  • 3. Snowy Range Mountain

Decent ski runs, affordable and no lines for lifts. Snowy Range Mountain Resort sounds perfect for anybody planning to come skiing in Wyoming without a lot of time or money on their hands. Good beginner trails, fantastic service and ample lifts while remaining pocket-friendly at the same time.

  • 1. White Pine Ski Resort

Perched in the beautiful Wind River Mountains, this resort is stationed ten miles off Pinedale, Wyoming. That makes it close enough to civilization yet far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Opened to the public 78 years ago, it remains one of the favorite family vacation spots in the Rocky Mountains. It also features cabins and a cafeteria to rent. There is also a bar where you get to be served by the owners Robyn and Alan while exchanging pleasantries. Very heart-warming.

  • 2. Snow King Mountain
