- Located in western Wyoming, the Tetons offer jagged, awe-inspiring peaks and placid valleys. It's not a long route, but if you start at Jackson Hole (home to a major airport) and head north through Moose, past Jenny Lake, to Colter Bay, you'll witness some incredible views of the range.
- Continue north from Colter Bay along the Rockefeller Parkway, and you'll soon hit Yellowstone. Veer left at West Thumb to reach Old Faithful, the infamous geyser, and continue on Route 89 to Mammoth Hot Springs, with its remarkable travertine terraces.
- Start out at Spearfish on the ND border, and continue west for a rewarding trip across Wyoming's far north. Stop for the Devil's Tower rock formation, and take a few moments in the Bighorn Mountains, before making straight for Yellowstone.
- This route lets you see the state's capital in south-eastern Wyoming, before crossing the state diagonally to Yellowstone. There's a lot to see on the way, including historic Fort Laramie, remnants of the Oregon Trail, and the hot springs at Thermopolis.
- Another Wild West themed trip starts in Cheyenne, includes the Oregon Trail ruts and Laramie's Grand Encampment copper mine, before passing the Pioneer Museum at Douglas and Buffalo - once the haunt of Butch Cassidy. Just follow I-25 and Route 89 north to Sundance.
