HomeToGo Launches National TV Campaign

The series of spots will be released throughout the United States from April 9th and feature Golden Globe Nominated Actor: Chris Noth


This summer, American audiences will experience a better way to find and book the perfect vacation rental with the launch of HomeToGo’s newest TV commercials. In a series of several TV spots, HomeToGo (the world’s largest vacation rental search engine) embarks on its largest TV campaign to date featuring Golden Globe nominated actor, Chris Noth. With a robust career in both TV and film, Noth has touched audiences for decades in well known roles such as detective Mike Logan on “Law & Order” and Mr. Big on “Sex and the City.” Smooth, nonchalant, and to the point, Noth charmingly demonstrates the ease, vast selection, and affordability that HomeToGo offers travelers searching for the perfect vacation rental.

A Year of Growth for HomeToGo

While filming a major TV commercial is no small task, it was only one of many achievements for HomeToGo this year. Besides planning, creating, and shooting a TV campaign, the HomeToGo team secured Series C funding, received the award for the fastest growing startup in Germany, achieved break even status in its core markets, and launched more localized websites - the latest being Brazil, the company’s 17th market.

From Startup to a Television Near You

Though the company has grown to more than 150 people, the startup attitude still prevails and has played a major role in the TV commercial’s realization. In fact, the in-house Product Design & Brand Team led the campaign's entire conceptualization and post-production coordination.

“The key to the campaign was tailoring the creative concept to Chris, which allowed him to deliver HomeToGo's core messages in a variety of short ads while staying true to himself. Thanks to his understated charisma and charm, all of the ads convey an approachability and authenticity typical of HomeToGo’s young brand. We’re excited to air plenty of fun and engaging clips on TV and online throughout the upcoming summer season, and I’m certain they will leave the viewers with a feeling of trust and excitement to search for their next trip with HomeToGo right away.”

In true startup fashion, the team worked in an agile way to successfully shoot the TV spots in only two days. To prepare for the shoot, the team worked with a production company to secure studio locations, equipment, and a crew, while creative concept, framing, design, sound, and script were handled by the HomeToGo team.

The startup spirit transcended to the set - even Chris got his growth hacker hat on and brought fresh ideas and concepts to the shoot.

“We were really lucky in that Chris didn’t just want to deliver lines. He wanted to understand the product, the value of using HomeToGo, and the concept behind each spot - he was like a member of the team! With this project, we wanted to create concepts that could actually deliver results, yet still be agile in our approach to the creative process. This gave us the ability to quickly pivot, and enabled us to make adjustments on set, which led to even more authentic and engaging content.”

The commercials will launch in April and run throughout the summer. The main focus will be centered around the ease-of-use, incredible prices, and vast inventory found on HomeToGo as well as the company’s innovative technology features such as flexible dates search, collaborative wish list sharing, and the HomeToGo app.
