Swimming in the lake is permitted from 10am-6pm in the designated area. Take a picnic and spend relaxed afternoons along the shore and take a dip in the refreshing waters to cool off. You can also hire canoes, kayaks and paddleboats for some coastal exploration.
Bass, perch, crappie, and catfish all populate Huntsville State Park's lake, and kids will love fishing from one of the many piers that jut into the water. Be sure to maintain boats at idle speeds in a bid to keep the natural environment at its very best for all to enjoy.
The team of rangers host regular events focusing on the history of the park, as well as the numerous plants and animals that inhabit it today. Details of the talks, classes and immersive experiences on offer can be found on the park's social media pages. Booking in advance is advised for large groups.
