Best Hiking Trails in Fort Boggy State Park
You will find three hiking trails in Fort Boggy State Park from a short loop around the lake to a long hike for experienced hikers. After a full day of hiking book into one of the Fort Boggy State Park Hotels and enjoy views of Fort Boggy Lake from your hotel room.
A 6.8-mile hike that starts at the campground and meanders along next to Boggy Creek before looping back. The trail is fairly level but there are sections that are muddy and very slippery. If the area has had recent rains, you will get covered in mud and the going can be very slow.
You will hike just over two miles on this short loop trail. The trail is flat and an easy hike that takes just under two hours to complete. Hikers will walk through sections of natural woods with distant views of Boggy Creek.
This 1.5-mile trail takes hikers along the shore of Fort Boggy Lake. The trail is mostly flat but it does have some slippery sections that require extra caution.

Fort Boggy Creek runs a series of Ranger Programs throughout the year. These include star gazing, campfire stories, guided walks, and guided canoe tours of the lake.
You can pick up a free Junior Explorer Pack from reception when you check. Packs include binoculars, a magnifying glass, and conservation guides that are returned to the camp when you leave. Each child gets a journal, pencils, crayons, and watercolors so they can keep track of all the fun things they did in the park.
