Families can camp, picnic, hike, or stay in one of the Caddo Lake State Park cabins during their weekend trip. However, do remember that alligators thrive in the park; therefore, read the park’s safety instructions before you go exploring.
The massive Caddo Lake, which spans an area of 26,810 acres, is home to over 70 fish species, making it an ideal place to go fishing. There is a fishing pier, complete with a boat ramp, next to the lake. A fishing licence is not needed if you're fishing from the shore.
It is fun to explore the turns and twists of Caddo Lake on a paddle boat, especially with your family in tow. Visitors can bring their own kayak or canoe, or rent a canoe in the park. The Caddo Lake area has over 50mi. of paddling trails.
The programs include nature outings and educational tours about the history of the area. Children can borrow explorer packs, which include binoculars, so they can discover even more while hiking and sightseeing.
