Timpoochee Trail
Timpoochee takes its name from an Euchee Native American Indian chief, and is the best way to discover South Walton. Roaming for 19 miles through state parks and along lakes from Dune Allen to Inlet Beach, the trail is a showcase for all that's great in the area. It's also relatively flat, making it ideal for a family day spent outdoors.
Santa Rosa Beach
The enduring appeal of this beach may have something to do with its pristine white sand and aqua colored water. But even better, the adjacent town has been voted one of America's top five favorites. The town has a rich history along with boutique shopping, fine dining, and children's attractions to choose from.
Camp Helen State Park
The Mexican Gulf swoops around Camp Helen, where you'll be amazed by prehistoric middens and mounds that date from over 4,000 years ago. The park's 180 acres are open during the day, when you can make the most of ample swimming and fishing opportunities, or alternatively, go for a hike through leafy environs.
Pier Park
In the center of town, you'll find its beating heart of commerce. Pier Park offers over 900,000 square feet of leisure. Dine in style, go shopping, or enjoy one of the frequent pop-up events, like concerts, which animate the park every day of the week.
Seaside Beach
Enjoy the simple life at Seaside Beach. Historic houses and farmers' markets offering ripe local produce delight both locals and vacationers. This town has a unique atmosphere that transcends its beachside allure, full of history and unsual architecture. There's much to discover in this small but unique resort.
