Established in 1830 by Virginia Baptists, today the University of Richmond has no religious affiliation. On nearby Libbie Avenue and Patterson Avenue in the neighborhood of Three Chopt, you'll find numerous restaurants. Farther afield, you can make the most of Richmond by visiting numerous historical museums and monuments.
The school covers 350 acres in a suburban setting on the western edge of the city, a small section lying within neighboring Henrico County. The campus is easily accessible by car by 1-95 from the north and south. Richmond International Airport is twelve miles from campus. Rental cars and taxis are available at the airport. The GRTC Transit System provides bus service between the school and downtown Richmond on weekdays.
To visit campus, schedule a tour on the school's website. The campus tour consists of a 30-minute information session followed by a 75-minute walking tour led by a current student. Registration for a visit is not compulsory but is preferred.
