Description

Welcome to Seaforth!

Seaforth is an elegant mountain cabin with fine furnishings. This cabin sits in one of the most idyllic settings in the High Country. Enjoy privacy and views at the top of the mountain overlooking the Watauga River Valley. Explore walkable woods around the property, brimming with wildlife. Take a leisurely walk back down the gravel road to enjoy one of the most beautiful mountain settings in North Carolina, where the Watauga River winds gently through the valley. Watauga River Road is flat as it winds along the river and is great for walking, biking, and exploring. And on almost any good weather day, you will see kayakers, rafters, and tubers enjoying the river. Or take a short drive to the famous Mast General Store, which opened in 1883 and still offers a cup of coffee for 5 cents. There is frequent live music and a fun array of mountain merchandise and lore. This cabin is located centrally in the High Country, within easy driving distance of Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain, and Grandfather Mountain.

The main living area of Seaforth Cabin is the heart of the home and is an open-concept floor plan. Soaring vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a massive stone fireplace, and a wall of windows greet you when you enter the home. The dining room is spacious, seating ten (10) comfortably at a large table. The main living area leads out to a large deck with comfortable seating. Downstairs is a game room with a flat-screen TV, a ping pong table, a dartboard, a sauna, and a movie room with a flat-screen TV.

"The location is nice and remote with a great view. The house is spacious. We had issues with the heat and the dryer but Carolina Cabin Rentals was quite responsive, as they always are. Also learned that CCR will deliver firewood for a fair price. Hot tub is well maintained and the sauna is nice for those who like saunas. The house is for sale so I don't know how long it will be available for rent."

"This was a great cabin that exceeded all expectations. Cabin is understating this rental as it was huge. The kids had a blast hiking around the property and spent every afternoon in the hot tub which has picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and valley. We will be booking a return trip soon."

"The cabin was absolutely beautiful and perfect for a weekend getaway! A group of friends and I rented it and it had everything we needed, including amazing views, endless things to do, and plenty of space! Our first morning there we saw deer and even had plenty of snow during our stay! The hot tub and sauna were our favorite amenities. Will definitely be booking again!"

"GREAT property! Views are amazing. Hot tub, exercise room and sauna were perks the entire family enjoyed. We expected to eat out each night but didn't realize how isolated it was, which was great, but we should have packed food more appropriately since most food is at least 15 minutes away. Now we know for next time! The only complaint we had was that the clean dishes/cooking supplies in the cabinets weren't actually clean. We ended up hand washing every dish/pot/pan we wanted to use because of leftover food debris/oil found on most everything. It was clear that the dishwasher was the problem as it didn't do the job when we tried to use it. Otherwise, everything else was quite clean and the space was perfect for what we needed. We would definitely stay there again!"

"The views and the cabin are really Amazing. We're lucky enough to see deers around the cabin in the morning and the afternoon! Cabin is Tidy, comfortable for a big family. The Hot tub is a plus, we loved and enjoyed it at nights after a long day of hiking around! Our only suggestion would be getting new mattresses for the 2 rooms upstairs, they're a little hard. Thank you!"

"This was a great space for a getaway with a larger group that included children. The views are gorgeous, and the deck is great for adults and children. There's a small lawn out front to play also! The cabin had lots of room to be inside if it was raining. The hot tub and sauna were wonderful. The upstairs bath is a great place to relax with a jetted tub and a spacious shower. The kitchen was well stocked in order to stay in and cook. We enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back again!"

"Our stay at the Seaforth Cabin was wonderful. The cabin was beautiful and lacked nothing. The morning sounds of nature in the mountains was a reminder of God's testament. The last hill before approaching the cabin was intimidating at first but was easier everyday. The map for trash drop didn't give directions but you can call the reservation team for directions. The cashier at the Mast General Store gave us good directions to the trash area. We will surely visit the Seaforth again!"

"First of all...Seaforth is a beautiful mountain home! It fit our needs to a "T". The housekeepers did a fabulous job...we have never had a house that was so clean in the past 4 years that we have rented from you! Now for the fundamentals...as we were preparing Thanksgiving dinner there...we were hoping both ovens would be working. One was not...and the other one had a bit of a challenge w/the racks. They kept falling down to the bottom of the oven...with items that were baking falling with them:/. Next...somehow we didn't figure this out until a few days into the visit...the knobs on the cook-top had been switched upside down...and we couldn't figure out why it was taking so long to cook anything on the stovetop. Once we realized that the knobs were upside down (telling us we were on high heat numbers...when in fact we were on low heat numbers) all was good:) Most of us have gas cook-tops...so weren't familiar w/electric ones...haha. Little things may need attention...like most of the knobs on the kitchen cabinets & drawers are loose. The oven door handle kept falling off on the right side...but we got a screwdriver...once the oven wasn't in use...and tightened that up. Once we had the furnace running (one day 2 of our visit)...there was a significant temperature difference between the lower level & the Master Bedroom level. The downstairs was very warm...& the upstairs was very cold. Not sure what the fix is for that...except that the only vent that seemed to be in the Master Bedroom was covered by a dresser. All in all...we had a good experience & will consider this house for next year, also:-) Thanks to Carolina Cabin Rentals staff & maintenance guys for constant communication through the furnace issue...and for quickly replacing the main level toilet parts that were causing it to run non-stop. We did feel very well taken care of! We think Seaforth is a lovely place to vacation:-)"

"The home and property were amazing! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back! Only negative feedback is there were flies in this home (we must have killed at least 30). It wasn't a major issue, just unexpected for this type of home.
I booked this trip last minute, so not much time to speak with anyone from your group. I was a little surprised that I didn't hear from anyone. I thought for the amount of money spent for a two day rental, that we would have received a call asking how our stay was going or if we needed anything. (I'm sorry that this disappointed you. Part of our brand is that it's like the house is yours. You drive straight to the house (without having to visit a real estate office and sign a contract and pick up a key), open up, and enjoy. Then you can go straight home without having to deal with us, or drop off a key. But that's not to say we're not available. If you need assistance, we're open 8 AM - 11 PM daily, we have a robust system of quality control and a team of professionals who care about your stay, and who work hard to that end. -Mgt)"

"The house was beautiful. It was large and easily accommodated our group comfortably. It was a bit further outside of town than we would have liked but the house made up for the distance. Our stay was very comfortable. Everyone loved the house. The property was very nice too, great view off the deck too.
Felicite and Tim were great to work with. They handled our last minute booking over the phone very easily and made our booking very simple. We arrived late on Friday night, after business hours, but the electric lockset used on the house provided very easy access. We were provided a code and able to access the house easily regardless of the time of arrival"

"My family had a wonderful time and would certainly return. But, my mother (85) had a hard time getting up the stairs to the deck and the stone steps in front were too steep and no hand rail for her to use. She would have liked a hand rail by the toilet in the main level bath. we loved the decks and ate every meal outside. Could use a few more cooking utensils in the kitchen and better usage directions for the cook top vent.
The staff were helpful from the moment i started researching for a property. I was sent additional information on upcoming events in the area that came in handy."

"Gorgeous property, very spacious. Well maintained and cleaned. Very well managed by the property management team. The only item of attention needed is to organize the kitchen and ensure all minimum essentials are inventoried. (AKA: Enough wine glasses, new non stick skillets, etc...typical vacation rental replacement items)
Never spoke with a person, all web and email based. Good informative emails, felt like I was in touch."
