"Me and several of my friends rented this place as a chance to get away and destress before our college finals. We had a great time. There was plenty of space for us to all enjoy from the hot tub to the game room. The check-in and check-out were so easy and enjoyable giving enough time for us all the enjoy our time. The only complaint was the parking was tight so would suggest no large trucks or a large number of vehicles. Overall a great chance for us to get away and enjoy our time."

"The cabin was clean upon arrival and equipped which essentials. It is an older looking property and could use some updates. WiFi was extremely slow (if that matters to you). Biggest negative was the beds. Mattresses are very old and uncomfortable (you can feel the springs). The beds make horrible grinding and squeaking noises even when just rolling over at night (and we’re not large people). Game room is nice but is in a detached garage (not attached like it seems in the pictures). Overall we had a nice stay, but probably wouldn’t stay again."

"We stayed here with our kids ages 9months-9years and we all enjoyed ourselves. Plenty of room for our baby to move around in his walker and plenty of room for us to have our own space. The older kids loved the freedom to walk to the garage game room to hang out and the hot tub was used daily! This cabin is close to so many fun things and we loved that you can call explorie to get a free ticket to certain attractions! this place is quiet except for the local rooster & dogs that you can only hear from outside. I recommend that you make the drive to “rock city” GA because that was awesome!"

"We enjoyed our stay at the Steele Away cabin. The third “bedroom” is actually a loft and is open to the kitchen/living room. So, when I woke up early, I couldn’t watch tv or make coffee without disturbing those who were in the loft. Management was great with responses. Kitchen was well-stocked and we loved the open kitchen/living/dining. We also enjoyed the hot tub and game room. Bring your own board games. Overall, t was a great family cabin."

"Overall the stay was great. If you want secluded, this is the perfect place. If you want a view, this is not the place. The property is surrounded by fully grown foliage. There is no view of the mountains. Beyond that, the place was perfect for us. Nice, separate game room in the garage for the kids to play pool, use the arcade, and a few other things. The corn hole boards were used almost daily. The hot tub was clean and treated, the gas grill was nice to cook a few meals with. The house is well kept and comfortable. It was nice being at the end of the lane and the permanent resident below the property made very little noise. In my opinion, the property could use some trimming which would not have any negative effect on the seclusion."

Silverware… 6-8 of each utensil…plan to wash after each meal or bring extra. Hot tub jets for snobs like me aren't great. Very low pressure. Very secluded-we love that! Groceries 20 minutes away (which we knew). So plan ahead. The drive in is not for a city person. Plan to leave in the morning for the day and be home before dark. The location took us by surprise as it was tucked away on a dirt/gravel road but geez what a pleasant surprise when we arrived! It was a beautiful place tucked away with a great amount of privacy. We were so pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get to the strip in Gatlinburg as well as Pigeon Forge. The cabin was clean and offered the perfect spaces for my husband and I and our 4 friends. Communication with the property owners wasn't even necessary because of the ease and how few complications we had during our stay (there were none). They also had a fun selection of games and movies that we had a great time utilizing! "We’ll where do I start. We had roaches running around everywhere almost daily and the last night had a rat run across the floor in the bedroom. ‍ ️ A little pest control will go a long way and is inexpensive. They didn’t get here to clean because they said the drive was frozen and couldn’t get to it but we had no problem getting there. Several people had been up there because their tracks was in the snow. We had to wash our sheets and the dishes in the dish washer when we arrived. ‍ ️ The pictures are blown up to make it look way bigger than it is. It’s small and the shower I could hardly move in around in it. The kitchen is small as well. The hot tub is old and works ok. For what it is it’s fine. It has a great Atmosphere. The little man cave is very nice in there but can’t stream tv because the WiFi is slower than molasses. Several things seem outdated. Faster WiFi is a must. A plus is king size beds in all rooms and good location. There was only 6 of us so it wasn’t to bad for us. They would have to fix the pest problem if we would ever stay here again."

"The property owners/managers were super accommodating and flexible. The cabin is off the beaten path which was perfect for us. We (three couples) used the he cabin as our base of operations for hiking, biking, horseback riding and white water kayaking. All of these were a bit of a drive, but it’s the mountains, so it takes longer to get places! The cabin was comfortable and the game room was certainly a big plus for evenings at the cabin. I would give the place a five star, but the cabin is in need of a deep clean and additional attention to guest needs (larger bath towels, basic spices, supplies, minor repairs) would elevate to that 5 star experience. We would definitely stay here again."

"Very nice secluded cabin just a short drive from the busy, craziness of Pigeon Forge. Extremely quite, with absolutely no neighbors right on top of you. Which I loved. The cabin was one of the cleanest cabins I have stayed in. With everything you would ever need for your stay. Plenty of towels & wash clothes, extra blankets & pillows. They have you covered. The only thing I could see being a problem would be getting to the cabin in the winter months if it snowed very much & you didn't have four-wheel drive. But this is to be expected in the mountains. Also, if you ride motorcycles, like my husband & myself, there is a 1/2 mile gravel road you have to navigate to access the cabin. That would be challenging before a beginner rider. This is a great cabin for couples or families. Lots of area for the little ones to play without having to worry much about them. This cabin is definitely at the top of my list to stay at again!"

"This cabin met our family's needs perfectly. There was plenty of room for all 5 of us; all 3 bedrooms had nice comfy beds and full bathrooms. The location is very private, but not too far off the main roads and is easily accessible by any car (although the last bit of road is gravel and a single lane). We came and went from the cabin at all times of day and night without issues getting to or from it and only encountered another vehicle on the single-lane gravel road once during our entire stay. The cabin is clean, well-kept, and it is nice that they don't have a long list of "chores" to do before leaving on the last day. Overall would definitely consider this place again and would recommend others check it out as well."

"The pros: Close enough to both major tourist towns, but away from the lights and noise. The interior is beautiful and there is enough seating for 6 in the main TV viewing area. The kitchen is setup for any vacation cooking you might normally do, but you are still only 20 minutes away from all the restaurants you could ever need. The 2 king beds we used were comfortable, and the third looked fine too! The Cons: The drive into the cabin, once your tires leave the blacktop, is a bit hilly and narrow. We didn't need to back up for anyone all week, but it could happen. If you do not have AWD or use 4WD, a restrained touch on the accelerator pedal is recommended in places, to keep from digging your tires in the stone. Also be aware that the weeds and scrub trees along the sides can rub on your car, truck or SUV. It's nothing that wouldn't buff out, but if you treat your vehicle like a Ming Vase, leave it at home and rent an all wheel drive or 4WD vehicle for this trip. Note: I will rent here again whenever I have similar needs. The management company was pleasant to us, and responsive to our concerns."

"We had a great stay at this cabin. It was very spacious and the 3 king beds / bathrooms was perfect for our group. The location was great for getting to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and to the national park. AC wasn't keeping up at first but we called and they sent someone out to fix it very promptly. As other reviews have commented, part of the road to the cabin is gravel and windy, we did fine but it could be tricky for bad weather or certain vehicles. Also, the WiFi had a usage limit and it was already used up for the month, prior to our arrival. Aside from that, it was a great cabin that served us very well for our vacation to the Smoky's!"

"This is a beautiful cabin that is secluded and peaceful. The cabin is very spacious and truly accommodates a large party. Most of my party did not leave the cabin the entire stay. We played cards, enjoyed the outdoors and spending time together. You are on a basically private road and we had no problems finding the location. We look forward to staying here again! The only bad was the wifi. It kept disconnecting and was basically useless. So if you are one that must have the internet, this isn't the location for you."

"This secluded sanctuary was just what I was looking for to get away for a week! Just outside of Pigeon Forge, you are only a short drive from all of the sight seeing your heart desires and you have all of the comforts of any vacation rental, including Wi-Fi and a hot tub! The only downside I found was the road leading to the driveway was a bit more narrow and bumpy then anticipated. Other than that, I had a great time and would definitely recommend!"

"We had a wonderful Christmas vacation in this cabin. It was very clean, well stocked with supplies and nicely decorated for Christmas. The beds slept well and the cabin is so spacious. We found short cuts around town that kept us out of the heavy flow of traffic and we feel the cabin's location was great. Our family was blessed by the accommodations provided. Thank you!"

"Very pleasant, isolated and private cabin to spend great time in Smokey. You will really love it. Only thing u need to be little careful about the driving directions as GPS sometimes show a route that's very close to the cabin but it's not really a driving route. So better to use Google map. It's a fine place to stay if u like privacy."

"The spring flowers and trees were in full bloom making the property even more beautiful. We got lost coming back from Gatlinburg and called the contact number. They were able to guide us back to familiar roads. The hot tub was a wonderful treat after the stress of being lost. We loved our visit to Great Smokey Mountain National Park. We walked a bit on the Appalachian Trail and we even saw bears! Gatlinburg was a bit too touristy and crowded for us but we were lucky enough to find some really cool out of the way places. This was a great trip and I would highly recommend Bear Tootin' Cabins!"

"Make sure you arrive for the first time BEFORE dark. Got caught in traffic two times and hit the one lane gravel portion an hour after sunset. Got stuck in the gravel at the crest of hill that required a left turn (which was not marked) and had to back up. Very thankful it was not raining. Only left the cabin for food. Hot Tub was wonderful."

"The cabin was beautiful inside with a very nice kitchen and open floor plan. The cabin is well taken care of and the furniture all looks new. It was nice for us because we had three separate couples so they each had their own space and bathroom. The third bedroom, however, is up in the loft so there is less privacy. The patio area is very nice to just sit out and enjoy the weather. The patio furniture and grill were new. The one thing I want to make sure future guests are aware of is this cabin is at the top of the ridge, and although the majority of the roads are paved, and the driveway is paved, there is about a 1/2 mile stretch that is gravel which makes it difficult for motorcycles or in winter. Our GPS did not take us to the correct location, and we had to rely on a kind couple to get us to the correct entrance. The location of the cabin was nice because you were close to Gatlinburg, but far enough out in the country if you didn't want to be in the downtown traffic. You can actually see the mountains in the distance if you look through the trees. We saw deer and turkeys as we were leaving the property. Hummingbirds came right up to the patio. I believe this may be a new rental for the owners so they may still be adding items. I suggest a few board games or something for evenings since not everything wants to watch TV. Also, it would be helpfult to have a booklet with tips of things to see in the area or recommendations. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was because of the difficult roads up. Overall, it is a beautiful cabin. Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Adventure Seekers, Families with Teenagers"
