⏤ Your Safety & Well-Being is Important to Us ⏤

We believe in providing a comfortable and safe environment for our guests.

Our housekeeping partner has always had a strict cleaning regimen that is performed after every guest stay. That is designed to increase protections for our guests and our team members.

♨️ Hot Tub: Drained, cleaned/sanitized, and refilled after every guest; fresh Bromine added.

Linens: laundered and processed in a commercial facility with temperatures that exceed those recommended for laundry operations; disinfectant added as appropriate; dried at recommended temperatures; and, packaged until put out for guests.

We have installed smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, noise monitoring device, and a fire extinguisher.

Due to updated county fire regulations, we do not have a grill.

⏤ Road Conditions ⏤

The private road to the cabin is only partially paved, with most of it being gravel and dirt. There are some places where the grade could be considered a bit steep. During the wet seasons, potholes and ruts can develop. It is a privately-owned road we have no control over, but the owner does have it regraded as needed.

Low-riding vehicles (sports cars, some minivans, etc.), trailers, and motorcycles are not suitable for the private roadway.

It is best to have AWD, 4WD, or chains just to be safe as even summer rains can affect the road. You should view a video of the drive (after turning off main road) on by searching the Internet for "#mountainair37862". Past guests have said the video was very helpful.

MOUNTAIN AIR's driveway is a mix of gravel and dirt, but is well-maintained. We have parking for 2-3 vehicles, depending on size. Turning around involves a 3-point turn or more, depending on vehicle size.

Please remember you will be staying in the mountains and mountain roads can be tough at times. We can not and do not guarantee any road surface conditions, especially during Winter. Most public roads are well maintained but can be winding, steep, and/or bumpy. It is not unusual to have roadways blocked or damaged by downed trees, especially after rain/snow or high winds. You are responsible for your own transportation. We cannot provide any transportation for guests. Weather conditions can be very unpredictable, and it is your responsibility to come fully prepared. We do not refund due to weather, road conditions, or the location of the property on the mountain.

⏤ Wifi, Phone, & TV Services ⏤

Cellular signals are generally weak at the cabin. We have added a signal booster indoors, near the kitchen, but results can vary.

We offer DishTV, a house phone, and basic 6mbps Internet w/Wifi (speeds cannot be guaranteed and are not be suitable for streaming TV/video). Weather or other issues can affect their operation and performance.

*NOTE we are in line for StarLink Internet which will be a big boost to speeds.

⏤ Booking MOUNTAIN AIR ⏤

Once booked, you will receive a confirmation message from us (Remarkable Vacation Rentals) with a link and instructions to finalize your booking on our secure website.

The booking guest must review and sign our Rental Agreement, a sample of which is available. This agreement must be digitally signed and returned to us **within 24 hours of booking**. Each booking includes our own Accidental Damage coverage, so it is not necessary no to buy your own.

We ****STRONGLY**** recommend you consider obtaining Travel Insurance for your trip, especially if your stay is during winter months, or if you are concerned about possible cancellation due to health issues, government policies, or other reasons. You will be presented with an opportunity to purchase a policy as a convenience to our guests offered by our service provider -- not by us. You can also acquire coverage from many online sources, but make sure you are clear on what they do and do not cover. Note that we are not a party to any travel insurance but will cooperate in providing any needed information should you need to file a claim with them.

Be sure to read and understand our cancellation policy, which is generous. We will not be responsible for any cancellations outside of our policy - that is what Travel Insurance is for.

"Our family of 5 had a nice stay at Moutain Air. The home is very private and in an ideal location for anyone wanting to stay away from the crowds of Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge (especially during spring break). The home was well stocked - we ate most of our meals here. The hot tub was great for relaxing after hiking all day. We also saw a small bear next to the cabin, which was a highlight. The road to the cabin is steep in several places and was a bit unnerving coming in the first time in the dark. While the description says 2-3 cars can fit, we think it would be very difficult to manuever especially if they are suv or larger. Overall this was as expected and what we were looking for."

"This is a gem of a property. It’s tucked away from prying eyes with year round greenery (even in Feb.) . The hot tub works great and offered lovely views. It was a well cared and clean cabin. The only downside is the road there is a little rough, we got up it fine in my 2WD, but it would have been better with a 4WD. Overall though, we will definitely book again and eagerly anticipate it!"

"If you’re looking for an outdoorsy rustic stay this is 100% up your alley! Lots of room we had 2 adults 5 kids and still had extra room. Very clean stay, towels and linens were very nice. The beds were comfortable my kids loved the kid rooms and games that were there. My favorite part was the kitchen area it had everything we needed to make meals and not have to pay the tourist price at all the restaurants daily. 5/5 for this cabin and we will be back, it was a great stay and not to close to everything but not to far. Peaceful stay, hot tub was awesome, grill, fire pit we loved it. The only thing I will mention I 100% recommend 4 wheel drive vehicle, a larger SUV, we did have a difficult time getting up there the first time as it had recently rained. I drive a Mitsubishi outlander and it was not a fan of the hills of course that is out of the owners of the cabins area BUT I did want to mention it for future travelers just to be prepared in advance or drive up the hill and get some momentum going."

"Great location less than an hour from any of our plans. Comfy beds and relaxing hot tub. We saw 2 bears at the property we think they like when you use the grill. The cabin was clean and had enough room for 5 of us to spread out and relax. Make sure you download your welcome packet to your phone before you reach the cabin because you won’t have service till you get inside. Make sure you’re equipped for the steep gravel road leading up to the wonderful cabin."

"Smoky Mountains vacation complete: We wanted a place that was in the mountains but without a harrowing and steep drive. We wanted seclusion but to be close to amenities and attractions. And we wanted to see bears! We got all of this and more at Mountain Aire. The drive up can be a little intimidating for those not used to driving on mountain roads, but our compact, four-cylinder cars made the trip multiple times with no problems, even in the rain. The cabin is very cute. It was clean and comfortably slept four picky adults. The hot tub is fabulous. The best experience, though, was sitting on the swing off of the lower deck in the mornings with coffee, breathing the fresh air, enjoying the sounds and sights of wildlife including multiple bear sightings! Chuck was very responsive and helpful. We would love to return to Mountain Aire next summer and highly recommend this booking."

"We had a stellar, peaceful 7-night stay once again at Mount Aire from February 10th thru February 17th, 2023. The cabin is secluded and immaculate with every possible kitchen need and appliance available - which we put to good use daily along with the large gas grill on the back deck as well. We enjoyed the hot tub but especially the fire pit nightly. Everything was just as advertised and we hope to return to Mountain Aire again for its peaceful seclusion. Thank you!"

"The cabin was clean and welcoming. It was everything we were looking for in a weekend retreat. It’s secluded enough to be very quiet, yet not too far from a few small stores and restaurants. The beds were comfortable, and everything in the cabin worked as it should. The first morning we were there I was having coffee on the upper deck and saw a bear and her 2 cubs. The roads leading to the cabin are just as others have described, and we were glad to be driving a Jeep, and not our Honda Accord. We hope to be making a return visit next year, as it’s definitely a place I can see us returning to again and again."

We were able to enjoy the sounds of the creek below from the back deck, which has two levels. My favorite spot was the swing to sit and drink coffee as the mist settled in the trees. The hot tub was located on the lower level as well, allowing for perfect views of the trees. We loved walking along the creek around the mountain, as it made for a beautiful and easy walk with the kids and dogs.
