"This cabin would be great for younger people. The bathrooms were not handicapped usable. No grab bars for bathtubs/shower. The Poll area was lovely but it was to be heated. The water in the pool was freezing cold. I can understand the pool door alarm but the decibel was ear shattering when it sounded. The property provided many towels and was all clean and folded. On the pool steps and front windows there was a collection of dead bugs."

"We scheduled a vacation day on a Friday so we could have a lowkey romantic weekend together, got there Fri around 4 only to find out the hottub didn't work, called & the technician said it would be Monday before it could be fixed. So took off work & drove 5 hours only to stay in a cabin with no hottub. Too cold & rainy to do anything outside. They give us $60 off our total which was over $600, not enough in my opinion."

"We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was just okay. For all the money you’re spending there is an annoying amount of signs about different things they will fine you for. The drive to this cabin specifically is up a very steep gravel driveway which was scary to drive on so make sure your vehicle can make it in those conditions. The pool was tiny which shocked me (it’s great that it’s indoors and private but maybe I just missed the dimensions somewhere). They give you plenty of towels which is awesome and the staff is very professional and welcoming. Your starter set of things like soap is pretty scarce and there are not enough dishes/detergent for more than two people who are staying for an extended period of time. So yeah... it’s good but expensive for what you’re getting."

With all of the awesome emenities the cabin was still very cozy for the two of us. It was our first time to Gatlinburg and we're already looking forward to returning, and when we do we're going to book Mountain Splash again only this time we're going to stay longer."

"Only 20 minutes from all of the attractions. My only complaint is Google maps takes you to a different cabin down the street 722 instead of 718. And jacuzzi tub upstairs after we used it once it did leak downstairs into the kitchen however they did offer to come out the next day to fix even though it was our last day there. And all the tv hookups in the living room downstairs was old and did not work for personal devices and tv was boxed in so that we could not get behind it to try to fix connections but All over a great experience and would want to go again when I can."

"First off this cabin could be amazing ! But there’s many issues that keep it from being so. The cabin itself was fairly clean but one of the only bed pillows had mold on it. I also dropped my flashlight behind bed post and it’s disgusting back there. Obviously never dusted or cleaned behind.
When I checked in two dirty comforters were spread out on washing and dryer.

I also spoke with customer service regarding this and never got much of an answer.
Biggest issue for me was maintenance. I told customer service I didn’t want any more visits since I had them out already a few times and just wanted to relax. On my last day there I was relaxing in jacuzzi upstairs and maintenance just walked in and yelled they were in kitchen.
Pretty frustrating that no call or text was sent to me to ask if this was ok.
Overall I found the cabin and service to be subpar.
Disappointing as I frequent this area and always look for good companies to book with. I did reach out to customer service for a can opener as cabin was missing it.
If nothing else customer service should do a good check of this cabin as there are dirty utensils, and just some summer cleaning that would make it much more enjoyable!
Definitely didn’t feel the price matched the quality of cabin or customer service !

"Highlights: We were glad to find the cabin was tucked away from the hustle and bustle with a little more privacy. The pool was the highlight of the trip for my daughter and she spent every day in it. The setting is peaceful with a nice deck for sitting outside with coffee and a good book. My husband and I really enjoyed the pool table.

Opportunities: I'd recommend some shorter pool sticks as the room isn't big enough to use full sized sticks at many angles. The cabin could use a deep clean as there was dust on a lot of surfaces. The furniture needs refreshed as one chair was cracked and peeling and I had to be mindful of the little pieces it was shedding as we have a 1 year old that puts everything in his mouth. I was very disappointed to learn that discounts are offered for healthcare workers and for AAA members after I booked and was told when I asked that the discount could no longer be applied."

Since the sofa is a sleeper sofa, it really should always look clean, if someone has to sleep on it. Also, the use of the fireplace should not be limited to only a certain time of year. Everything else about the cabin & my stay was totally awesome."

"We drove 7 hours and arrived at 3 for check in. We received a text delaying it until 5: 30. We sat in the car and the cleaning lady arrived around 3: 30. She said she'd be done in 40 minutes which we knew was unrealistic. We decided to go eat and came back after 5 and she was just loading up to leave. We received our door code and went inside. The cabin was as described however I'm not sure what she did for 1.5 hours because the floors were not swept, refrigerator not cleaned, stovetop was dirty, trash on porch not picked up, toilet seats and tops not clean (hairs on seat and under seat), hair on the sink (most likely from toilet), floor behind toilets were DISGUSTING!, bedroom area not dusted, floor behind the end tables had not been swept for awhile, the walls in the bathroom had visible dirt/dust, previous guests razors and items under the sink. Makes you wonder what was clean. The contract states that the hot tub is drained after each guest. There was not evidence it was even looked at because if it had been then the trash on the porch would have been picked up and the cover wouldn't have a layer of dust on it. The tub in the bedroom looked clean however the jets were black and the plug had black mold inside. There were clothing tags under the bed.
The pool table needs swept and angled differently so you can actually play a game without hitting a wall. There is a pile of dead bugs in the windows and the fans needed dusted. Thankfully I had clorox wipes & disinfectant spray so I cleaned the bathrooms. I text the company and advised them it was not clean they asked if they could do anything. I told them I had cleaned and it was already way past check-in and didn't want to wait any longer after a long day of travel. It is obvious that inspections have not been made for awhile. I understand everyone is short staffed but this was unacceptable. The cabin is located out of the way but close enough to Downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge."

Cabin comes with a "starter pack" of toliet paper, dishwasher soap, paper towel roll and laundry packet. If you stay more than 1 night, you will need to bring or buy enough for entire stay. The master bedroom is a loft, dont expect to watch tv at night if someone is in the living room also watching tv, you will go insane. Cookware was rusted and dirty, the whole place was not cleaned very well. No storage space in master bathroom, master bathroom? what a joke, not even a blow dryer! "The cabin (Splash Mountain) was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The pool in the cabin was perfect for three boys! The location was convenient and close to attractions in both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Food stores and restaurants were nearby. The cabin itself sits high on the mountain so as the website suggests, be prepared in the winter months with 4wd vehicle. My only complaint or concern is the millipedes in the cabin. In fairness, TN in the summer is tough to avoid the bugs but it was uncomfortable for the kids in the beginning. By the end of the trip it was just more of a nuisance. The pool brings with it warm and humid environment which can draw the little critters in. Overall, this was the absolute best vacation we’ve ever had and I encourage everyone to consider Elk Springs Resort!"

"The cabin is beautiful and quiet. The view is spectacular. It is a great concept with the indoor pool and the hot tub on the porch. During our stay we got over ran by centipedes. I killed at least 100 per day. Gross! There was not a dust pan to even clean them up so I went and bought one. I feel the cabin missed a few important little things. Definitely in need of more shelving/storage in the bathrooms. The wi-fi is less than optimal, an extender for upstairs would be beneficial, could use more utensils, pans, mixing bowls in the kitchen, a plunger bc there are signs about stopping up the toilet which we didn't but some people use a lot toilet paper and a plunger would be helpful. A hairdryer I feel is a basic for rentals. A book telling where things are located like linens and pillows for pull out, maybe some food recommendations or activity recommendations would be awesome. The A/C struggles to cool the upstairs. The pool could be a few degrees warmer. Also, you have a woodpecker that is eating your cabin and a squirrel or something in the roof. The couch uncomfortable. Overall, nice visit. Beautiful place."

The driveway to the property was extremely steep and kind of terrifying, but that’s part of the adventure! The pool and hot tub were very well maintained and nice to use. "My husband and I recently stayed at this cabin for his birthday. I was really excited to stay at another elk springs cabin since I had such an amazing time when we came about three months ago. I made a video of our experience there and shared how great it was.
Last Friday, When we arrived at the cabin we were greeted by an Rednecks welcome....sign. I wasn’t to pleased to see that sign. I really wanted to leave at that moment. The jacuzzi jets didn’t work. But the hot tub did. We used that as an alternative. The hot tub was very nice and I like the calm atmosphere. The cabin overall was clean. We did step on a lot of caterpillar and centipede inside of the cabin. At least 12. But it is in the middle of nature so no big deal. The pool water was freezing. But it was still beautiful area. The jets and pool water was minor to me. The sign really bothered me. I’m not sure if family and I would use elk springs in the future as I don’t think my race is welcomed. Thank you for your time."

"First I would like to say that every cabin we have ever rented from Elk Springs (quite a few different ones) have ALWAYS been clean and tidy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mountain Splash. It was easy to get to. We played pool every day' relaxed in the hot tub, and enjoyed the beautiful view right from our loft bed looking out at a mountain top. The pool was bigger than we anticipated. For those taking kids, an alarm is on the door that will go off every time you open the door to the pool so you know if your kids go into the pool room. This is a one bed cabin but it does have a pullout. The size was perfect for just my husband and I. We are return customers to Elk Springs Resort because they have never disappointed us with any cabin we have ever rented. Thank you for another great stay in Gatlinburg!"

"The property was as described and we generally enjoyed our stay. The pool and hot tub were great, in working order. However, I must note that my children missed two days of virtual school because the WiFi here was so poor. All of our devices constantly dropped the connection, and resetting the modem and router had no effect (at their suggestion when I called). I expected better and would not have stayed here had I known the WiFi wouldn't support two children doing Google meets.

One other disappointment - there were no sheets for the sleeper sofa, and it was the only other bed in the unit besides the king bed in the bedroom. I didn't realize until 8: 45 pm, and when I called - after leaving a message, since nobody answered - they said 10: 45pm was the estimated delivery time, which is an hour plus after my child's bedtime. They did deliver by 9: 45pm in the end, which I appreciated, but the person who delivered the sheets was looking at his phone the entire time - he never even glanced up at me when he handed me the sheets. It was stunningly rude in light of the circumstances.

One more note - I suggest you bring a 4WD vehicle even in summer. We had a minivan and I was genuinely nervous each time we approached the house that our vehicle would not make it up the hill. It was a STEEP incline. Also the house is in a an area where all of the roads in and out are extremely narrow - as in, only big enough for one vehicle. I drove around hairpin curves in fear of meeting another car and not having anywhere to go. This location is not for the faint of heart, especially since the cell reception is very iffy."

"We always have a great trip in Gatlinburg. There is so much to do in Gatlinburg. The cabin was nice, the indoor pool was nice, and we enjoyed the indoor heart shaped jacuzzi tub. The outdoor jacuzzi was nice but more lighting was needed. The biggest issue we had with the cabin was the millipede bugs. We contacted house-keeping and they sent a maintenance rep to spray to try and get rid of the bugs. Additional pest control measures are required for this cabin. Although millipede bugs are harmless, they were annoying and there were too many millipede bugs. We will not be returning to stay in this cabin and we will not recommend anyone to stay in this cabin."

"The roads leading to the cabin are narrow and steep. There are also very few street signs which can make it hard to navigate. We made sure to be in before it got dark. The cabin was clean. The kitchen has basic cookware and utensils. Nothing fancy but it got the job done. The bed and sleeper sofa served their purpose. We slept fine with no complaints. The pool area is a nice size. There's an alarm on the door and a code is required to access the area. The only issue we had during our stay was the millipedes. They were on the main level and in the pool room. I didn't notice any upstairs. It felt like we were stepping on potato chips. After a quick phone call management sent someone out to spray which helped a little bit. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would definitely stay at this cabin again."

"This was our first time staying in a cabin and it was a wonderful experience. Pluses - cabin was private and quiet. We arrived to a clean cabin. The kids loved having the private pool. We do wish we would have been able to sit outside with the pool door open but the alarm sounded every 7 seconds. Wi-fi worked fantastically. Having the hot tub on the enclosed deck was a plus to not worry about bears! Negatives- the mattress needs to be replaced. You can feel the insides while laying on it. Same for the pull out mattress. Although I’ve yet to find one of those that were comfy. Also would have been nicer to have sink bases to be able to put stuff on instead of carrying all your items to and from bathroom. Shower water pipes squealed the entire time you showered but water was hot enough! In the hot tub only 1 jet worked so that was a little disappointing. Also more signs leading to the cabin would have been helpful. All in all the cabin was wonderful and the pluses outweighed the negatives and we’d 100% recommend it to others."

"We recently stayed at Mountain Splash. It is a nice cabin but could use some updating far as furniture goes. The couch was very worn down and hard to sit comfortably. The bed mattress was not the most comfortable as well. We mainly booked this cabin for the pool use which was super nice having our own private pool. We also seen a momma bear and 2 cubs in our driveway one evening."

"We came to Gatlinburg for our Anniversary. The cabin was nice but there were a few things. The hot tub was leaking when we got there but the staff fixed it in a timely manner. The hot tub also had a musty smell to it. The indoor pool was cold I don’t think it was 80-84 like the sign said. So I got in up to my knees and then got out. The king size bed was horrible the first two nights we didn’t sleep well. The 3rd night we took the mattress from the pull out couch and put it on the bed which was much better. Other then that we did enjoy ourselves."

"The stay was perfect. The temperature in the pool was a little cool but that was to be expected considering the outside temperature. I called maintenance about the leak under the kitchen sink, left a voicemail in the first day and heard nothing back. It was an emergent issue so I wasn't too worried about it. Recommend putting more tissue in the bathroom, ran out after the 1st day, again, not a huge issue. We had a blast and will definitely book again in the future."

Hottub jets were very very weak just a bowl of hot water. House was dusty and trash was in the fold out couch. Still had a good time but will definately bring my own pillows and blankets next time. Top notch service with the office, booking and maintenance depot. Great job there!"

"We've stayed in chalets in the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge area for over 20 years now and have had over 30 different chalets, so we are experienced at the Gatlinburg vacations.

Pros:

Cons:

We were forced to wait 2 hours past check-in to get into the chalet, as the pool tech was there working on a leaking pool. It was after 5: 00 pm before we were allowed to get the code to get in.

We got calls daily from the resort management telling us the maintenance guy was going to be entering our chalet.

The pool leaked daily so much that a maintenance man had to come to the chalet daily and interrupt our vacation to work on the pool. The waterfall never worked and he never attempted to fix it. He was only there to fill the pool daily as it leaked.

The hot tub had only one jet working

There was an animal inside the chalet every night but we had no luck trapping it and it scared our granddaughter to even sleep there and she's 10. It was not a mouse. It was big enough to knock a lamp over. We actually went out and bought a trap, but had no luck.

The pictures on the web of the pool area are outdated and new pictures showing the mess should be put up. There are 2 big holes cut in the floor at the end of the pool. No working waterfall. The pool area no longer looks like the pics on the web.

The drive to the chalet is so overgrown that trees are hanging from both sides of the road as well as over the top of your vehicle so you have no choice but to drive through it and scratch your vehicle up in the process.

We came back to the chalet after being out all day and there was a nosy neighbor that we found standing in our driveway looking down into the pool area deck below. The people in the house next to the chalet are locals and had no problem coming on to the chalet property and it made it creepy.

We've stayed at Elks Spring a few times and never had an experience like this. This chalet is n"

"Amazing! I would say perfect but there were a few minor cons & as awesome as this place is, I couldn't believe it but a hairdryer is a must. Now, for the biggest issue, the temperature. During late afternoon the upstairs turns into a sauna and well the downstairs room with pool was a sauna the entire time. By the time we arrived, the heat had gotten so high that we couldn't get it back down to a to a comfortable temp. The portable unit only seem to blow hot air and the normal unit was locked, so unfortunately our time downstairs (the coolest part of the cabin) was kept to a minimum."

"We enjoyed Mountain Splash. The cabin is in good condition, and was relatively clean. We like staying in the Arts and Crafts area, and this cabin was not too difficult to get to, and was about 10 minutes from town. There is a steep grade to get up to it, but that's common. There is a neighboring cabin very close, in fact right across the driveway, that was unexpected and occupied with what appears to be some locals. They weren't a problem or anything, just very close.
The pool was lots of fun, but could have been warmer. We couldn't swim for more than 15 minutes or so without becoming too cold to take it anymore.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cabin. No major problems or inconveniences. Like I stated, the cabin was clean. Carpets could use a shampooing, and floors needed mopping, but I'm very picky on cleanliness. Maybe that wouldn't bother someone else. It wouldn't stop me from renting this cabin again.
Check in/out was a breeze. I loved getting the info via text message.
We'd definitely use Elk Springs Rentals again!

"The Cabin was nice. We booked this cabin specifically for the pool only the pool was out of order due to bad heat pump. My kids were disappointed. I would like to book another cabin in the future but will not pay extra just for one with with a pool. Then we had a scare because maintenance was sent out to check on the pool only he did not inform us he was their.
