Description

By renting one of our cabins, you will experience a superior level of quality and service that the large property management companies in the area cannot offer. The reason you ask? We are the actual owners of our cabins, and we personally manage every detail ourselves. My name is Chris. My wife Sarah and I are the owners.

The majority of rental cabins in the area are managed by large property managers who have a whole lot to keep up with. Unfortunately, this can lead to a property to fall behind in its care and cleaning. This leads to a poor traveler experience and a lack of personal service. We try to be different. We only own 6 cabins, and that allows us to give more time and attention to our properties. The exceptional quality of our properties and the personal level of service you will receive will leave no doubt in your mind that you made the best choice for your Smoky Mountains vacation.

Our cabins are competitively priced for what they offer with their location and amenities. All of our properties provide our guests a sense of privacy, and are not in areas where you will feel intruded on by a neighboring cabin. We may not be the lowest priced cabin you will find, but that is by design. We want to be one of the best, not the absolute cheapest. We want you make long lasting memories that you will cherish for many years into the future. We are always a phone call or text away if you need us at any point after you make your reservation, and during your stay. The last thing you want is to have to chase someone down if you have a question or a problem.

This is our beautiful and luxurious Star Dancer Cabin! You will be nestled up against the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at our cabin. Our property borders the national park. The mountains you see out the back door are all National Park land!

Star Dancer is next door to another cabin we own named Cloud Dancer. If you have a large group consider renting both Cloud Dancer and Star Dancer to sleep up to 28 people. Each cabin is 4,400 square feet in size, secluded, and separated by a wooded lot. They are only a couple minute walk apart. If you are planning a family reunion, wedding, or other get together with a lot of people we are happy to rent both of them as long as there is the availability for dates at both properties.

Cleaning: We understand cleaning is now more important than ever. Our cleaners are using an enhanced cleaning routine to ensure the property has been thoroughly disinfected prior to your arrival. Our cleaners are using an anti-viral/antibacterial cleaner on all frequently touched surfaces such as counter-tops, door handles, light switches, and other frequently touched surfaces. Our hot tub is drained, scrubbed, refilled with fresh water, and chemicals added between each guest. We hope these extra measures make you feel comfortable during your stay at our cabin.

SOME OF THE BEST MOUNTAIN VIEWS YOU CAN FIND!

Star Dancer is located in one of the greatest mountain view locations in Gatlinburg.

The view is SPECTACULAR! The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is out your backdoor! Our rear decks offer an AMAZING view of the untouched mountains of the national park. Huge mountain peaks of 4,000 to 6,500 feet greet you as you look out the windows or stand on the rear deck. You will not find views like this at many other properties.

You will have access to 2 swimming pools on the grounds while you stay at our cabin. There are actually 3 pools, but one is closed for maintenance. These are private pools for tenant use and you and your guests are free to swim during your vacation. Pools are usually only open from Memorial Day through Labor Day under normal circumstances. The swimming pools are an easy very short drive from our cabin.

Star Dancer's Gatlinburg location offers a wealth of privacy and calm, and is an easy driving distance to all the attractions and the national park. In Summer you'll also have access to three nearby swimming pools. Bent Creek Golf Course, which was designed by Masters and British Open winner Gary Player, is also located just 5 minutes away.

Our cabin is great for the entire family. We have a full-size arcade multi-cade with many 80's style vintage arcade games on it. We also have a second arcade game system with over 6,000 games on it. This additional arcade system is custom made and has nearly every single Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Atari, Sega Genesis, and many other retro games loaded on it. We also have a pool table, and an air hockey table for your enjoyment.

We keep the cabin pristine and clean at all times. The property is well maintained and tastefully decorated. We stay up to date on maintenance and we keep our cabin in tiptop shape. This is a beautiful mountain cabin and you will feel at home if you choose to stay. You may find some cheaper prices for other properties, but you get what you pay for. Look over our pictures and you will get what you see.

The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area defines the main level. The three perfectly cushioned leather sofas are ideal for watching a program on the 60" flat-screen TV, taking advantage of the free WIFI, or catching up with friends and family—assuming you can draw your gaze away from the view of the mountains just outside the twenty-three-foot-high wall of windows. The room itself is a stunner—lustrous hickory wood floors, pine wood walls, and vaulted ceiling; dramatic chandeliers; furnishings that define rustic refinement—and the warm glow of the gas fireplace in the winter makes it even more inviting.

There's room for six at the log dining table, and another six can make themselves comfortable at the adjacent breakfast bar that surrounds the kitchen. Outfitted with a full array of appliances, cookware, and tableware, plus ample granite counters and plenty of elbow room—the kitchen will please experienced cooks as much as it will those who plan to do little more than brew coffee and reheat leftovers from the previous evening's restaurant meal.

You can also cook and dine outdoors. As well as a charcoal grill, Star Dancer has a picnic table that can seat up to ten people. There's nothing like eating outside, surrounded by mountains and the sunshine as warblers and sparrows serenade you!

The three large bedrooms are spread out among the house, one on each floor, for maximum privacy. Each definitely qualifies as a master suite, with a king-size bed, a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV, and direct access to a deck or a balcony—perfect for enjoying a romantic nightcap under the stars. We also have a queen size sleeper sofa located on the main level and downstairs in the game room.

For the remainder of your group, we have 2 sleeper sofas and 4 comfortable twin size portable floor beds. The portable beds are very comfortable beds with memory foam mattresses for comfort. These simple-to-use portable floor beds can be moved to any room and laid out in the floor for ultimate convenience. When finished, these simply fold away and can be stored in a closet.

Up to 14 people can comfortably sleep in Star Dancer. There are a total of 4 1/2 baths as well, so no one will be caught waiting too long for a bathroom to come open.

"We actually had these cabins recommended to us by another friend from the area. They could not have been more perfect. Our family enjoys being off the beaten path and out of the crowds. Both of these cabins were just that. They are both very spacious with tons of amenities. We did not ever have anything to do is the spare time of lounging around. The views of the deck were exactly what the Smoky Mountains are written about. Again, I would highly recommend both Cloud Dancer and Star Dancer Cabins."

"Exceeded my expectations and I, by the time the trip came around, with all the communication with Chris & Sarah, already had high hopes for this rental. This was my first cabin/home rental. I grew up going camping in a pop-up camper or renting a cabin in a campground, as I got older we stayed in hotels. Chris & Sarah were extremely informative. You can tell they took the time to think and answer any possible question or issue you could have. We arrived late, and the view outside the cabin was breathtaking in the dark night sky! Walking into the home, CLEAN, honestly spotless! I always come armed to clean before the family gets comfortable. I never realized the stress I put on myself when I feel the need to clean everything right away. I felt a sense of relief, and literally relaxed for the entire stay. Even when we saw a big bear walk across the back yard! Y’all WE SAW A BEAR! The views, the amenities, the decor, watching the zip-liners, the sunsets, the SUNRISES, the stars, the just EVERYTHING. It’s evident Chris and Sarah put themselves in the viewpoint of the renter and possibly thought of everything. We went with a big family group and honestly they were singing my praises, the whole time, and not gonna lie, was pretty great! This fantastic cabin, in this fantastic location, did I mention we saw a bear, live, like right there! I’m pretty sure I will be renting from this family from now on. The bar is set too high now! Thank you Chris & Sarah."

"We come to the Gatlinburg area every year for a two week stay. In the past we used the bigger property management companies to rent our cabin, which is typically a very large high end cabin. Our experiences with these companies have been horrible. Lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall communication when things go wrong. So this year we decided to go with an owner managed cabin and found star dancer. From the very beginning, the owner Chris communicated promptly, answered all our questions and provided us with every piece of information we needed to prepare for our stay. The price was reasonable and booking was a breeze. Upon arrival, the cabin was very clean and well maintained. There were a few very minor issues that needed to be addressed. I contacted Chris and he had people out the same day. We had a great time and the cabin was very well equipped with everything we needed to cook, watch movies in the theater and all have enough room to spread out. During our two week stay, we had some severe weather with over 100 MPH winds. Chris sent his local property manager out just to check on us and address any issues we may have had. These are the services you get from an owner managed cabin vs one of the large companies that could care less. Overall, our stay was fantastic and we highly recommend this cabin and more importantly, this owner. Chris understands the importance of guest experience. We will be staying with Chris next year too!"

"Best Cabin I’ve Stayed around the world. Beautiful views, perfect for star gazing, great space, needs more beds/bunk beds. Penny pinchers and want to squeeze any all fees possible for all kinds of reasons. (Ex. Plates on the sink $100 or leave past 10am oclock and get charged another $100). With so many conditions, rules, and penalties, it felt we had to clean the place ourselves and leave by sunrise. Although we appreciate the instructions and emails, ultimately, it felt we came to an army drill or escape room, follow the instructions to the teeth, or you will strike out. We came to relax and spend time with the family and left stressed out and rushing out to prevent getting penalized. Excess of emails and overwhelming instructions. If they make it simpler people will enjoy more!"

"Perfectly located between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and backed up to the Smokey Mountain Park system. Absolutely beautiful large cabin with every amenity. Very private only one near-by neighbor (same owner as this property). Appreciated that each bedroom is a en suite and spaced apart for privacy. Kitchen is well stocked with everything necessary to prepare meals. Plenty of room for dining and gathering in the great room. We selected this cabin, in part, because of the game room and theater since weather is unpredictable and it didn’t disappoint. Our family enjoyed a couple stormy days/nights at the cabin as much as we did exploring the area. But nothing, absolutely nothing compares to the view - it is absolutely breathtaking! As we drove through to some of the “lookout” points in the Smokey’s, we laughed because the view from our couch and deck were better! Make sure you catch at least one sunrise and sunset from the deck! We also enjoyed a couple bear visits right in our back yard and on the road to the cabin (at a safe distance). Our family did a lot during the week and we strongly suggest a hike in the mountains (drive if that suits you better), white water rafting, golfing, an evening to walk the strip in Gatlinburg, Hillbilly Golf (down the mountainside) and the Ripley’s mountain coaster at night with lights (fasted one). You can’t go wrong with this rental. It’s fantastic! And the owner’s communication is outstanding. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area."

"Wow! This property was absolutely amazing! The views! The best in the area! We enjoyed morning coffee on the deck while admiring the mountains. The house was very spacious, well kept and had everything we needed! The owners were extremely easy to communicate with and readily available if we had questions. The highlight of our stay was the mama bear and her 3 Cubs that walked across the driveway while we were safe inside. The house is in a great location and close to major sightseeing areas. The roads to the house were a little precarious for us Florida folk but not terrible. Highly recommend this property!"

"We stayed at Star Dancer in March 2022 and returned a second time in May 2023. The cabin is gorgeous. Chris does a great job communicating and making sure needs are met. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes and small appliances for pretty much all meal prep needs. And we love to cook and eat primarily at the cabin when we have visited. The cabin has lots of comfy furniture and plenty of space to stretch out and relax. Views are breathtaking. The hot tub has a bit of age, but it works fine and is well maintained (and clean). Be careful as there are bears in the area, particularly along the wide ravine that runs to the top of the mountain near Sunshine Trail. They didn’t bother us, but be aware if you travel with your fur baby. We actually just hike the mountain roads while staying in Cobly Nob because we can have our dog with us and it’s truly great exercise with the elevation gain. Dogs aren’t allowed in the national park, but we probably log more miles hiking around the cabin and avoiding travel time to the park. We are actually staying at the next door sister cabin Cloud Dancer later this summer. It looks equally fabulous, and we know Chris will have a well-appointed and well-maintained cabin. That’s why we keep going back. Enjoy!"

"We have stayed here twice in 2 years for over a week each time. The cabin is huge, meticulously clean, and has the most magnificent view of the Smoky Mountains! There are three floors which accommodated 3 adult families. We spent each morning with a cup of coffee on our expansive deck waiting for a visit from the bear family in the area. The cabin has everything you could possibly need, especially in the kitchen! There is a washer/dryer in the main master bedroom which was so convenient to dry towels used from the hot tub or outdoor activities as well to wash clothes to go home in our suitcases. The bottom floor entertainer us during a rainy day with arcade games, and a pool table. We watched movies nightly in the theater room! The host is the best we’ve come across. Communication - top notch. We were there during a Tropical Storm, and he proactively communicated everything we would need to know for preparation. I cannot speak highly enough about this cabin and our experience vacationing there."

"After a year and a half of Covid-19 restrictions, I wanted to give my college age daughter a treat so I researched the best places to take 19 year olds and Gatlinburg came up. I then looked for a luxurious cabin style house to make the trip fun and memorable. Star Dancer was the nicest house I could find and I rented it for a week. What a great decision this was. The house is very roomy without being too massive in scale, and it was impeccable in every way. Each of us had her own floor and bathroom which gave us privacy, and the shared living room, dining room, kitchen area had incredible views of the Smokies. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a double rainbow which was the only one of the entire trip but what a way to start. Chris is a very professional host with endless good advice about how to make the stay easy and successful. The house is well appointed in all ways, and there are many things to do in the region for this age group. While hiking is the main reason I chose the area, we found so many other options as well to pass the time. There was a good fitness gym nearby for $10 per day which was essential for this age group. I would heartily recommend this house to anyone, whether going with adults, teens or children. It was an exceptional vacation, made so by the attentive hosts and the beauty of the region."

Leading up to our stay we had lots of good information emailed to us, everything from what to do in Gatlinburg to tips on Bear safety. This trip was everything we hoped for and more. The cabin was exactly as pictured. The details were just right, the rooms were all thoughtfully themed and cozy. We had a full Kitchen worth of utensils and all the bathroom essentials you would need. The Hot tub was a nice retreat after a long day of exploring. The downstairs arcade game room with our own movie theater was the most visited room in the house and everyone of us laughed and had SO MUCH FUN beating each other at Air Hockey and Frogger! Everyone's Highlight of the Trip was finding new bear tracks each day and eventually watching the Mama and baby bear cubs that crossed through the yard on several different occasions throughout the week. This experience was absolutely incredible and one of a kind. I HIGHLY recommend staying in the Star Dancer! It will be the most memorable and Fantastic time!"

Very good
"Star Dancer is a 3-story, 4,400 sq. ft. cabin located near Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The cabin has 3 king bedrooms, 4 pull out cots, and 2 Queen sleeper sofas (uncomfortable) with 4.5 bathrooms, W/D, movie theater/game rooms, and grill, hot tub, and picnic table out on the decks. The great room features floor to ceiling windows with a wonderful view of the mountains. All three floors have outside decks...very nice for morning coffee. Obviously very quiet, but you could hear people enjoying the zip line nearby. Plenty of parking available. The cabin was very clean when we arrived. As an extended family of 10, we decided to stay in the cabin the majority of our 8-day stay. My brother and I played golf twice at Bent Creek Golf Course (a mere 10 minutes from cabin and $49/round)...nice course...back nine is brutal in terms of difficulty but we had fun. Ventured out a little at the end of our stay, but we focused on sleeping in, breakfast, naps, dinner, movies/puzzles, and getting to bed early. TV's were playing in Spanish when we arrived. Owner walked us through changing that. The door code worked but it took us a little time to activate the keypad screen. We could never get alarm to work. Instructions were followed, but we were never able to activate it. We always had someone at the cabin so I don't believe it was a big deal until leaving the cabin at the end of our stay. The alarm never beeped after holding leave button for 3 seconds. The movie room theater chairs are showing some significant wear. If you would sit in them and small flakes of black leather would be covering your shoulders and backside. Also in the movie room, the instructions for the remote need updated as there is now a different remote. Instructions also say that their is a blu-ray player and we brought some to play...but there is no blu-ray player. The refrigerator was making some very weird sounds once fully loaded with all of our food. You could tell fridge handle was broken and repaired in the past, but not very well. Recommend getting a new one. Toward the end of our stay, the toilets, sinks, and showers on bottom floor began to drain really, really slowly. So much so, we feared that the cabin's sewer lines were backing up into the house. We stopped using them the last couple of days of our stay, so that was inconvenient. As we stayed mostly in the cabin the entire time, we made a lot of trash. The covered and locked trash area outside is pretty small for a cabin this size sleeping up to 14 people. As such, we had to keep lots of trash inside (double bagged as instructed) which made for an unpleasant last couple of days of our stay. A deer lamp had broken antlers in one of the king bedrooms. Had a great bear sighting as he came up the lane, into the parking lot, and right up to the cabin. Great 1-3 minutes of pictures and video. Would stay again at this location. Great view. Good cabin. Needs a little TLC."

"The Star Dancer Cabin was amazing. They thought of everything to make your stay outstanding. The decorating style of the mountain motif was beautiful. They even had mountain soaps and lotions is each of the bathrooms. It really showed their attention to detail. The beds and bedding were super comfortable. Even the roll away cots were cozy. The highlight of the cabin was the picturesque view from the great room with floor to ceiling awesomely high ceilings. We were truly on the mountaintop. The view from the deck allowed us to watch zip liners, and allowed me to film my husband and son on the zip line straight from the deck. The teenage boys loved the amenities in the basement of billiards, air hockey, and arcade games. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the mountain. We loved bringing our puppy with us as well! I have recommended this property to several friends, and we are planning on returning there very soon! Thanks Chris for an amazing stay!"

"Star Dancer was just as extraordinary as the pictures and reviews stated, absolutely wonderful! We had a fantastic time and spent hours enjoying the cabin and it’s amazing views. We also fell in love with the Media Room as we watched a movie each night during our stay. We played pool, air hockey, the video games provided and also used the card table. The beds were comfortable and enough space for all. We even got 6 inches of snow while there. A happy occurrence was someone plowed the road that leads to the cabins making it safe for travel. All in all I would totally recommend Star Dancer!"
