"If our group size is ever the same, there is no doubt we will be returning to this property in the future. We truly loved everything about the cabin. I could write an extremely long review about how much we enjoyed this cabin, but then people probably wouldn't read it. I'll simply highlight each area instead. Location: Very easy to reach in the summer. Driveways are steep, but no vehicle had any issues including an overpacked minivan. Very close to a lot of things, but still far enough removed to not feel you are near anything. I think the Wal-Mart was 10 minutes away on easy back roads. Upper Kitchen: Kitchen had way more equipment than advertised and was great. Had plenty of large bowls, bakeware, cooking utensils, and some basics we had forgotten, like aluminum foil (likely left by previous guest so don't count on it, but we were thankful there was some to save us a quick 20-minute roundtrip up to the store). Everything was labeled so we knew where to return things. Dishwasher was quiet and efficient. Lower Kitchen: Did not even use but was also well stocked so you wouldn't need to take things back and forth between kitchens if you did need to use it. Laundry: All very nice. Dining room: Great solid table to sit plenty of people. Living room: Greatly enjoyed the powered reclining couches and recliner. Bedrooms: No one in our group mentioned anything negative about any of the rooms we used, so I think they were all fine. Noticed plenty of extra throw blankets in the closest that I'm sure help during winter trips. Bathrooms: Only issue was the basement tub was slow to drain. Everything else worked as expected throughout the house. Also had extra hand soap dispensers so we did not run out of soap (something in the description mentioned small amounts of starter soap provided so we were expecting to maybe run out. Ended up being one or two hotel like soap bars per bathroom, so we did not run out over the weekend). Outside: Hot tub was great but did get a little foamy when the jets were kicked on. Back deck furniture was very comfortable, and we enjoyed the little propane fire pit in the evenings. We did not make it down to the larger, real firepit, but it looked nice. The basket swings and gliders around the wraparound porch were great. Garage/loft/game room: All great. No one slept there, but all the games were played and all parts were there so games could be played. Grill shed: We did use and it was great for fixing a bunch of hamburgers in a light rain. But I have to question the safety of the design. Seems unsafe for cooking anything fatty or greasy if dripping were to cause flares."

"My wife and I, our 4 adult children and their spouses/fiance, and 11 grandchildren (Ages 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 6, 6, 4, 3, 2, and1) spent Thanksgiving week 2023 at Rest At Mountain Crest. The accommodations were absolutely spectacular. Because of the grandkids' ages, the main house was able to accommodate all 21 of us comfortably.

All 3 kitchens are well-stocked with everything you might need to prepare a meal...though we only occasionally used the downstairs kitchen, and never used the garage apartment kitchen at all. The downstairs refrigerator/freezer, and the main kitchen pantry, were both much appreciated and utilized… given the volume of groceries we brought in for the week. With some imaginative platooning of meals, the main floor kitchen, breakfast room, and dining room handled our large family cooking and dining arrangement just fine.

The Game Room in the garage apt was a huge hit. The drive-way basketball goal was a nice addition, as was the grill shed, the 2 outdoor fire pits, and the two laundry rooms. As a fairly frequent visitor to Gatlinburg, it was noticeably apparent that the owners of Rest At Mountain Crest do an incredible job of not only maintaining the property, but improving it to keep it as a desirable top-tier vacation rental. The grill shell is a perfect example. Sure, other vacation rentals may have a bar-b-que/grill...but I've seen none with the grilling set-up you find at Rest At Mountain Crest. It was superb. The outdoor facilities, as well as the interior decorating and furnishings were top notch... well above the level you generally find elsewhere in the Tennessee and North Carolina mountains.

As for some of the reviews pertaining to the driveway leading to the property, you'd think that the developers had some kind of death wish for those trying to get up and down the mountain. Hey, it isn't that bad. It is asphalted and very well maintained... maybe a tad bit narrow if you happen to encounter a car approaching from the opposite direction, but still very much manageable. Nearly every morning on our way out, we witnessed a young man blowing the leaves off the 2- mile private road leading to the RAMC driveway which had collected the day before. I will mention though that the private driveway leading in and out of the property is a little steep, and could have used its own leaf blowing detail on one of the days we were there. It rained pretty good on Tuesday, and one of our 5 vehicles was unable to get sufficient traction to get out of the driveway due to the wet leaves near the top. I will also point out that none of our 5 vehicles are equipped with 4-wheel drive (we don't have mountains in Louisiana), and besides that one incident, we experienced no issues with the driveway or the road leading in and out of the gated community.

Our visit to the North Carolina mountains, and our 7-day stay at Rest At Mountain Crest, could not have been more memorable. In addition to our spectacular accommodations, my youngest daughter was proposed to at the top of Shortoff Mountain on Thanksgiving Day morning. In closing, we will definitely be back to Rest At Mountain Crest. All of the adults in our family give it 5 stars, and have commented that it was the best of all the cabins we've rented on our numerous trips to the mountains. Many thanks to the owners, and to the folks at Carolina Cabin Rentals. They have all done an incredible job with this cabin.

Sincerely, The Guidry, Snell, Escher, Guidry, and Morris families"

"Our family of 15 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Marion. It poured down rain nearly the entire weekend but there was so much to do in the house, we didn't mind a bit. The house was stocked with every appliance you could ever need, and all the amenities were high quality. It was clear that the owners/managers had thought of everything. We would definitely recommend this house for people who enjoy playing games (pool, basketball, arcade games, air hockey, ping pong, etc.) or who enjoy relaxing with gorgeous views."

"I'm only sorry there isn't a 10 star rating! This place is truly amazing. The decor throughout was beautiful, everything in the kitchen was high end and the best stocked kitchen I have ever seen-much better than my own at home! We were a large party with children ranging from 4-16 and there was something of interest for every age. The back deck was probably our favorite spot with a gas firepit, comfortable seating, a large umbrella, a hot tub and a gorgeous mountain view! There is also a large wood firepit with chairs around it in the side yard where our kids made s'mores and caught fireflies one evening! There is so much more I could mention but I hope you get the idea! You will not be disappointed if you choose to rent Rest at Mountain Crest. I was also impressed with the staff at Carolina Cabin Rentals. I e-mailed them several times with rather minor questions and they always got back to me remarkably fast and were always so pleasant and helpful."
