The bathrooms are roomy and have full showers with one half-bath in the main living area. The rental is equipped with an open kitchen that faces the dining area. The living room is nicely decorated and cozy with a wood stove. You won't forget about the amazing cathedral ceiling. There are two decks—one in the shade and the other facing the sun.

Tons of Goodies to Enjoy
Fir Mountain Escape is a rental that has so much to offer that you just might not want to go outside. Smart TV in the living room. Check out the recreation room where you'll have access to air hockey and ping-pong as well as another television for entertainment. If you require office space for your vacation rental, there is a dedicated office that has two desks as well as a secure, wired internet connection. Come out to the deck where you can release stress with a soak in the hot tub while taking in the beautiful views of the surrounding pine trees and Mt. Adams.

Conveniently Located
Not only is Fir Mountain Escape an amazing mountain view home in Hood River, it is conveniently located so that you and your guests can enjoy exploring Hood River. Downtown Hood River is a 12-minute ride away offering access to restaurants, shopping as well as access to the Columbia River for water activities. If you are a wine lover, explore the many wineries to choose from in the area. A trip to Hood River is not complete without some time on the slopes. There are several ski areas located within a 20- to 45-minute ride from Fir Mountain Escape. Tea Cup Cross Country and Mt. Hood Meadows Ski resort are about 20-25 minutes away. The popular Timberline Lodge which offers year-round glacier skiing is 40 minutes away.

"This place really exceeded our expectations. I loved the location. It was secluded enough to feel disconnected from town but still close enough. The lay out of the house is great with rooms on each floor, comfortable beds and 4 bathrooms. The hot tub was on and hot when we arrived, AC/heat in each room and just beautiful views on the balcony. Fully stocked kitchen and open concept living room was great to play games. Thank you for letting us stay here."

"We really enjoyed the Fir Mountain Escape. We were in town for a weeding and it was a great location for us. The house was clean and the whole process with Arrived went smooth. The only suggestions we have is some sort of stepping stones for the front walk and the kitchen is a bit dated but overall was a great stay!"

"Loved the location. Plenty of room. The master bedroom worked great in that my daughter could put two Pack N Play beds in the office space/room; however she had to hang beach towels over the windows because there were no blinds. The dining table fit all of us; but it would be nice to have a booster seat or high chair for baby or toddler. The basement would be a great space for teens if a table and chairs were added to make puzzles, play cards, etc. Air hockey game didn't really work well and ping pong paddles need replacing. Had to clean out the dryer lint screen before using; it was packed with lint. Kitchen was well stocked but the non-stick pans need to be replaced because the coating was damaged and not safe to use. I reorganized cabinets as things were randomly misplaced in various cabinets, etc. I would add plastic drinking glasses; especially some taller drinkware. Nice to have individual room air units. Bathrooms were well stocked. Bedrooms well stocked. Overall, Fir Mtn. was a perfect fit for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Plenty of room to spread out."

"Our family spent 4 nights here celebrating a Christmas away from Portland. House is located about 15 minutes outside Hood River and has great views all around. House is up a hill but the roads were maintained even with snow. Driveway was snowy but not very steep to get into. House is very large and great for multiple families. It’s a strange mix of new modern furniture with a dated kitchen. House is well stocked with appliances. Rooms are large but beds are queens only and aren’t very comfortable. Each room has its own heating and cooling system which is nice."

"This house served as the main meal place for 20 of us coming into Hood River for our Thanksgiving Holiday. 9 young adults stayed here, 9 of us stayed on down the road. This is a wonderful house with lots of room to stretch out and space to cook and share meals. The view of Hood River from the trees is quite something! We saw lots of der and two three pointed bucks. The kitchen has plenty of pots but really needs more dinner plates. For this large of a house, there should be a few extra. It seemed to stay warm and there were plenty of seats. However, one wobbly wooden chair broke and was left in the wood pile. The kitchen garbage can was rickety and then the step-on mechanism broke. I hope we will not be charged as they were already in poor shape. Thank you for sharing your home!"

The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need for a Thanksgiving feast. And I mean everything! The spacious lower floor was perfect with a ping pong table and air hockey. The wildlife was exciting to see. Deer and wild turkeys galore. All viewed from the beautiful deck and the lights of Hood River at night were so pretty. "We spent 2 weeks at the house and absolutely loved our stay. The location was perfect for us - it felt private and a bit off the beaten track - yet very close to town if we needed something. When they say the kitchen is well stocked they mean it. The beds comfortable and the house so spacious. It was great having a garage to store our mountain bikes. We loved the area - we did a lot of mountain biking at Post Canyon, at the downhill parks on Mt Hood and in White Salmon. All offered something different and easily within reach of the cabin. We rafted down the White Salmon River and hiked on Mt Hood multiple days. There are many cider/wine makers and farm stands just minutes from the house which we enjoyed visiting. The cabin was the perfect base camp - clean, comfortable and welcoming. The deck (and hot tub) offer a beautiful view of the agrarian valley - it was stunning. We wish we could move there forever - a great place for a family summer vacation - and I bet fantastic in winter too. Next trip!"

"Very nice property; very expensive so we probably cannot repeat. Barbecue grill is malfunctioning (only reached 350F even after we replaced propane tank with new) which prevented us barbecueing for our reunion gathering. Note to owner: A young member of our party, left unsupervised for a half hour, accessed the closet marked "private" in the master bedroom and evidently damaged a pair of binoculars. I asked him to leave his name and phone number with the binoculars."

"Thank you so much! The home was absolutely perfect and extremely well suited our needs in every way! Everything was clean and well stocked. We were able to find everything we needed. I wanted to note that the Ikea chair near the TV seemed to have previously been broken. One of our guests nearly tumbled out of it when the arm came loose. She was totally fine but I just wanted to let you know so someone else doesn't get injured! Also, we weren't exactly sure where to put glass recycling... so we left a note with our bottles. Hope this was okay! Overall, we truly enjoyed everything and I would love to come back in the future! Thanks again, Alyson"

"Beautiful, secluded home with plenty of rooms for a large group. Fun play room and a jacuzzi to relax. Could use a deep cleaning! Potato chips and crumbs under twin beds and food crumbs found under hide a bed. Heater vents could use a thorough cleaning. Alot of dust on vents and when heater comes on it gets blown into room. Not good with people with allergies. We loved our stay and enjoyed the home!"

"We came with some family friends for a weekend of fun in the snow and the place was perfect for it! We built a long slide along the side of the house to sled down and when the kids got cold they could come warm up by the wood stove or in the hot tub! Then there was endless fun on the ping pong table. It was a quick drive up to Meadows (particularly the HRM lot) for a fun day of skiing and the grill was set up conveniently right outside the sliding door so we could still grill up a good meal when we got home even with all the snow around. And speaking of food- the kitchen is incredibly well stocked with large pots, pans, bowls, and appliances for those who like to prepare their own meals! The overall temperature was a little tricky to regulate with so many separate wall heaters and thermostats but we figured it out. We had a great time in your home! Thank you!"
