The Columbia River Gorge, with its mountains and rivers, offers the vacationer and recreation enthusiast the opportunity to windsurf, mountain bike, kayak, golf, ski, hike, fish, or just relax in the unhurried pace of a natural paradise. Historic buildings line the beautifully scenic streets of downtown Hood River, with a bustling shopping district featuring boutiques, designer shops, outdoor adventure gear outfitters, antique shops, art galleries and no less than 30 restaurants.

There are many orchards and vineyards in Hood River. The Hood River Valley is known for its luscious apples, pears, cherries, peaches and other fruits, and for the view of the majestic snowcapped peak of Mt. Hood. People from all over Oregon make an annual trek in the fall to the many farm stands to stock up on fresh apples and pears. Other produce is available, and varies by season. The award-winning Hood River Vineyards is located on a hillside overlooking the Hood River Valley. Their tasting room features traditional wines, and fruit liqueurs.

The Columbia River Gorge, with its magnificent views make this a dream spot for a destination wedding.

Wind surfing capital of the world is Hood River's latest distinction. The winds from the Columbia River Gorge, best during the middle of the day, create ideal conditions for riding the waves. To enjoy the view of "boardheads" at play, drive to the Columbia Gorge Sailpark or follow Second Street to the waterfront.

The Mt. Hood region and its more than sixty miles of forested mountains, 77 waterfalls and myriad lakes and streams are a rip-roaring mecca for outdoor adventure. The mountain is home to four ski areas and offers the country's only year-round skiing and snowboarding.

Please note, if you choose to book with this home, you will be receiving a separate rental agreement that will need to be electronically signed before your stay.

"Beautiful home with spacious bedrooms. Loved this home! Was very private and just far enough away from town to be able to enjoy peace and quiet. Very central to hiking trails, restaurants and wineries. This home was 5 star clean and well stocked. The hot tub was clean and maintained. We hope to visit and stay again next year. Thank you"

"Overall excellence. Rustic cabin is part of the vibe. Would've appreciated info on heating (instructions on baseboard heaters, given no thermostat, tips for lighting wood stove or whether flue had damper to open). A bit noisy given nature of upstairs floorboards, but overall liked the home, loved the setting, enjoyed the hot tub, well-stocked kitchen. Would rent again!"

"Our stay was all about relaxing and playing music in a beautiful location. The woodburning stove was an awesome feature for a winter retreat, and the hot tub was clean and hot - everything you'd want. The house was only about a 10 minute drive to downtown, so it was super convenient. 10 out of 10!"

"Lovely, cozy cabin. Easy to access. Hassle-free check-in. Very well stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels and linens, and bonus - they were super nice quality and clean! Loved the reading nook, all the greenery. One small thing that would help is some kind of way to know for sure that the hot tub will def be available before booking. Would def come back!"

"We really enjoyed our stay. The home was spacious, lots of comfy seating, and so clean. It was easy to find things in the kitchen due to all the nice labeling. Kitchen was super clean. The beds were comfortable with nice pillows and linens. The dining room was well lit and roomy. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the nice big back deck. The setting was private and so pretty with all the tall trees. We felt like we were in a forest. We would definitely stay again. The only minor feedback would be brighter lighting given the dark wood walls and the doors and windows are hard to open and close."

"Baja Norte was everything we could have asked for! It had everything we needed and more. The fully stocked kitchen and plentiful towels and linens were awesome to have and the ~~multiple working AC units and several fans kept the place at the perfect temperature for us. As others said, the doors/door knobs can get a little tricky on the front door and upstairs bathroom but they didn't cause any real issues. The kitchen knives are dull but as long as you're careful, they didn't hinder anything. There was plenty of space for all of us the jacuzzi was AWESOME. Would absolutely stay here again!"

"Location was great. This house was super cute and cozy and had everything you needed. The only reason is it is getting a 4 star is because the beds were hard as a rock so no one got a good nights sleep and there was no starter for the fire place and it took awhile for the house to heat up. Other than that it was a beautiful location."

"Baja Norte is a warm, cozy, and inviting rental. We had everything we needed. The house was clean, the kitchen was very well stocked, and everything was in good working order. The beds were comfy. I went to use the hot tub, but found the water was cloudy so I opted not to use it. I know it's serviced regularly (the service person come by they day we were leaving, but didn't speak with him), so I'm not sure if cloudy water is an issue or not...it just didn't look right. It's just a 10 minute drive into the heart of Hood River, yet it feels remote and very cabin-like. I also really appreciate that they use free & clear laundry detergent for linens, as I am sensitive to synthetic fragrance and it's often an issue in other rentals. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Hood River."

"We booked this cabin primarily so we could bring our dog and it was perfect. There is a very large fenced yard and a very large deck and our dog enjoyed running around. The house is very well stocked with nice linens and towels. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything we needed to cook all our meals. Only two suggestions: The confirmation notice we got said pets "must never be left alone inside the home unless they are crated. " So we made a dinner reservation and brought our crate. When we arrived there was a sign that said pets could never be left alone in the house so we had to cancel dinner. Should have been warned. Second, there are no instructions for anything, including TV, heating, hot tub. We could not replace lock box because there is a specific order in which you need to do things but no instructions. Arrived rep came quickly, which was great."

"I have been traveling and staying in rental homes for a couple decades, and I have to say if it's not the best, it is very close to the top appointed kitchen. I've had the pleasure of staying at very nicely displayed spices, all the drawers are clearly labeled with their contents so you don't have to go digging. A very nice ground coffee was left for us to use and it was just all around. Lovely in that sense. But there are some real problems with the infrastructure of the home, one being the door hardware on every door in the home. I got locked into the bathroom for 20 minutes until I got rescued from the outside. The bedroom that I stayed in the very comfortable sleeping wise, the door didn't close and I had to put luggage or items out of the closet to even keep it a little closed. The front door took us 10 minutes to get in backwards and forwards and push and pull didn't get that. Could you try again then I think the owner of the house needs to fire whatever electrician they had hired we blew circuits no less than a dozen times. The AC unit in the. back dark room doesn't work at all and when it triggers, I think that is what was blowing a circuit. I think there's plenty of electricity to be had but it's not. but it seems they are all on one circuit at times especially the front of the house we didn't get in the hot tub but the owners are wonderful in the way that they have laid out baskets of towels and amenities in the bathrooms. I wish we could give it five stars but when I got stuck in the bathroom, I got a little scared. Thank you for letting us stay in your home first trip to Oregon and our first stop was lovely."

"Your Comments Beautiful cabin with plenty of room and great location to Hood River, Parkdale and Mt. Hood. Would consider staying here again but there are a several details that are missing. Generally there is a lack of information on if/how the wood stove is used, how the cable TV is used, how to sharpen the super dull knives, and how/if the electric heaters are to be used. Also, it definitely had an “out of season” feel to it. The deck was not yet usable, no places to sit on the deck, and there is no yard. This place could be a four or even five star rating if details were addressed."

"We loved this house, comfy, cozy, clean, well stocked with everything needed for an enjoyable home base while exploring the area. Close to downtown but felt really quiet and secluded in the trees on a large lot. The hot tub was a wonderful treat at the end of each day. Comfy beds, lots of towels. Only thing that I would change about this house is the front and back doors automatically lock when closed so always put the key back in the lock box on the front porch or you could accidentally get locked out. The door shut behind us while we were in the hot tub and we had to walk around to the front door to get back in the house. But we will definitely stay here again"

"Nice place. Kitchen has a lot of nice amenities (coffee grinder, wok, etc). Perfect for dogs. We have 9 month and 10 year old boxers and it was perfect. The puppy wakes us early to go out and the backyard is completely fenced. I didn't worry about her at all. The living room was comfortable - lots of lighting to allow for reading. The window seating was great. Our puppy really liked it - we put a blanket down for her so she could sit up there and look out the window. Really happy with the space. Very comfy!"

"Don't let the coziness fool you, this cabin is spacious. All the living areas are set up to seat 6-8 comfortably (though there were only 4 of us). The deck is massive, dining table perfect for conversation and meals, and the TV area had plenty of seating areas everyone could do their thing in (read, work remote, relax). We went on one of the hottest weeks and the cabin stayed pretty cool. Especially at night. The box fans were a HUGE help getting that cool evening air into the upstairs bedrooms to sleepy comfortably. Kitchen was well-equipped with many gadgets, utensils, serving dishes etc. didn't cook any tigons beyond leftovers, charcuterie, and the occasional slice of toast, but was impressed with the organization and amount offered. All in all a great experience. Can't speak to the hot tub as it was so hot out we wanted nothing to do with it BUT I will say it was cleaned while we were there so very nice to see routine care for it. Looked really clean and inviting (in any other weather). WiFi was strong enough for 3 people working remote, too. No complaints. Can't recommend it enough!"

Our only complaint was that there was very little privacy in the cabin- all sounds could be heard room to room (including conversations, snoring, dropping a feather, etc.) ."
