"Before arrival, I was asked if we wanted a Christmas Tree. Not only was there a decorated fresh Christmas tree, but the table, mantle and other areas of the house were decorated as well. My family is scattered in various places, so it was very nice to have a week to be able to catch up. The kitchen was well equipped and all 8 family members had plenty of space to spread out. The hot tub was a huge hit. I appreciated the host providing information on hiking trails and places to go. It is a great location and easy to drive to Asheville or Black Mountain."

"I really wanted to give Blackberry Lodge a 5-star rating because it has a lot of amenities: Spacious great room, well-appointed kitchen, large master, great location not too far from Asheville. The only negative is the 2 very small bedrooms downstairs which have a bed but nothing else: NO closet, dresser, chair, etc., which means you live out of a suitcase on the floor (not my preference). On a positive note, the property management company is excellent and responded promptly to all our questions and needs, like a malfunctioning dryer (ex. they brought lots of clean towels since we couldn’t launder them ourselves)."

"The home was beautiful, very well appointed and very comfortable for the group (3 couples and one single, all family). We used four of the five bedrooms and having all of them with their own en-suite baths was great. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, yet reasonably convenient to grocery stores, local restaurants and breweries, as well as downtown Asheville and Hendersonville. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will definitely rebook if we plan another trip to the area in the future. One thing to note - If you or someone in your group is not able to easily navigate stairs, this house may be a bit challenging. That said, the master bedroom, kitchen and primary living area are all on the first floor, so it may be doable. Overall, an excellent property."

"A lovely property in a wooded area outside of Asheville. Spacious home with wonderful amenities. A luxury to have 5 bedrooms and 5 1/2 baths for a group of senior couples, as well as plenty of games to entertain us. Approximately 20 minutes to Asheville and some breweries/restaurants a bit closer to the house. The only minor criticism we had was the fact that there was no television in the main living area, which is rather unusual. "The house was quite nice and fit our needs with the 5 bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms! However, the lights in the garage/game room didn't work so we had to bring a lamp from the bedroom in there to use that space. Also, the master bathroom has NO privacy as there are glass French doors leading from the bathroom to the bedroom. That also let in a significant amount of light as dawn was breaking. The two a/c units in the bedrooms downstairs kept freezing up (and we didn't have them lower than was recommended). We did enjoy the location and the outside decks/spa as well!"

Spacious and very clean with an excellent location. Short drive to Asheville, the parkway, Lake Lure, Hendersonville, Brevard, hiking, tubing, mountain biking. Even closer is hiking at Bear Wallow Mtn and horseback riding a Hickory Nut Gap Farms. But, it was hard to leave this home for day excursion due to the home being so relaxing and warm.... truly my mountain"

"We stayed at the cabin early in the summer which included several nights with friends and family from out of town (and out of country). I simply can?t say enough good things about this place. Clean, spacious with a certain rustic flavor but also seasoned with all the amenities to fit the modern technological needs of everyone, young and old. Spent plenty of time relaxing, but also playing games, bird watching and taking in a little baseball on television. The location was easy to find and its proximity to A"

"We can?t fully express the warmth our family felt walking into Blackberry Lodge. The home has achieved the difficult balance of cozy and inviting yet open and spacious. We were easily able to get to the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville as well as Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Getting locally made cheese at the Looking Glass Creamery and a local brew just down the street after a day of fun topped it all off. It was a blissfully relaxing time for our whole family. Thank you Blackberry Lodge and Yonder!"

"Blackberry Lodge is situated a bit south of Asheville allowing it to be convenient not only to downtown, but the airport as well - a quick twenty minutes to either. As we pulled in the the drive it was apparent that the property was well maintained. The yard was very tidy and the house clean and comfortable. There is plenty of room for the family to spread out. The relaxing back deck, just off of a well-appointed kitchen, feels like you could be deep in the woods. It has everything you need and more for a g"

"Wow, what a great space. We visited here in December and just loved it. It has a true mountain feel with an awesome fireplace. A short drive to Downtown Asheville, Biltmore, and Lake Lure/Chimney rock. Convenient to exploring but with a great 'tucked away' feel on a quiet private street. The jacuzzi and hot tub were a hit with the whole family. Can't wait to stay here again!"

"We visited Asheville with a couple of families before school started and absolutely loved staying at Blackberry Lodge. As soon as we walked in, we were impressed with the spaciousness of the home and how clean it was. All the kids had a blast in their own space plus the game room was a big hit. The adults spent a lot of time relaxing outside on the huge decks, cooking, playing cards, reading and listening to the birds. The kitchen was perfectly stocked and ideal for a few big meals we prepared. The hot tub w"

My husband and children loved the deck where we ate dinner several evenings overlooking a beautiful wooded area. "Easy to get to from Asheville. We were here with our 10 year old daughter and loved the open floor plan of the house. The back deck was perfect for grilling, bird watching and having evening drinks. It was super close to great hiking and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Be sure to hike Bearwallow Mountain which is just down the road and grab a beer at the Whistle Hop, the local brewery that is in an old rail car! We will definitely be coming back here to stay on our next visit to Asheville!"
