"It took a long time to check in since the rental agency I booked with did not send my check-in credentials to the lodge. At least, that is what I was told. I was then told to get on the phone and call the rental agency. I could not get them on the phone so the attendant called himself, which he could have done to begin with (I suspect a more direct line) and they finally got things straight. After that, everything went well. The condo was clean and comfortable."

"We found your condo to be ok, though as few things were insufficient:
Missing light bulbs made of difficult to see in such a naturally dark place, especially at night, but even during the day. The light bulbs that were provided are much too dim. THEY ALL NEED TO BE BRIGHTER, especially in the living room, master bedroom and bath, kitchen and living room. There is also a broken desk lamp in the master bedroom and missing a light bulb. Would also like to have ice provided. Two small plastic trays is not enough and what was there had evaporated apparently and was unusable. Also need more hangers on the two bedroom closets. The balcony was filthy and unusable. Hadn’t been swept and furniture was dirty and in disrepair. Otherwise, if these things were addressed I would highly recommend your property to others."

"This unit is conveniently located in the Lodge. That’s why we chose it. However, it needs updating. It was not super clean when we arrived.... dusty on the furniture in the master bedroom, carpet looks dingy, bedding is old. There is very little lighting in the master bed and bath. The curtains in the master are impossible to open. We have stayed in other units in this building and felt they were more well kept."

And stop by James Ranch on your way up. We would definitely stay here again!"

"We loved the condo. Everything was great except the blinds in the center section were completely broken and missing. Didn't really bother me with the exception of the sunlight blasting in so early in the morning. If someone sleeps on the sofa or sofa bed they can't sleep in. Still a great place. Love the layout of the condo."

"Complaints sent previously:
-dirty garbage disposer
-torn door screen

-dirty glasses - lip marks - possibly done by kids; grossed my wife out because we had used some before she found it but we did not get ill
-dirty silverware
-large dirty spot on carpet
-broken glass on balcony

-balcony door from living room would not lock
-tub faucet in second bath needs caulk and needs a new diverter valve - it barely gets water to flow through the shower head
-too few medium sized glasses
-light bulbs in kitchen are too low wattage
-light fixtures above sink in master bath are candelabra type - not enough light

-no space to hang garments in the second bedroom closet
-exhaust fan in second bath is very noisy - likely near the end of its life

We liked the condo layout and decoration. We especially liked the ceiling fans. We will be back next year and will likely rent from you folks. We won't rent the same condo -- too much noise. Rowdy drinking party in one of the condos with the orange roofs. Too much motorcycle noise Labor Day weekend. Not things you can control."

"A fairly good destination to ski. The location in the lodge is a definite plus. Our accommodation was good, although it is on need of a deep clean as there were bugs in the lights and obvious wear and tear on the carpet. The master bed is starting to concave a bit... But in general very good condition. The only truly negative is that it was hot, very hot in the rooms. Despite the windows being open all night and day the temperature never dropped below 70. And with no air conditioning it can be uncomfortable. But this is out of the hands of the owner."

"My family and I had an excellent time staying at this unit. The location is extremely convenient to skiing, food and drink, etc. The slope side location made it easy to come and go from the unit during a powder day, a big plus. Property management was very communicative. We had one small issue and they and the maintenance folks were quickly responsive. The unit was clean, well stocked and roomy for our family of three, and could easily accommodate another few people. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone."

"I stayed here for the month of August to explore the area. The property was as described and had a well stocked kitchen. The carpet has seen better days and needs to have a deep cleaning or be replaced. To be fair, it is a dog friendly condo and these are not easy to find but I have a larger doodle with clean floors at my house. The sofa bed broke while we were there and our host had someone over on the same day to fix it. There was no grill in the whole complex as they said the old one broke and they haven't replaced it. We took our cookout to Lake Andrews about 15 min away. Beautiful little lake with built in grills. The pool was great but sometimes overrun with screamers. I would recommend hiking in the area. Check out Silverton for off roading. Best rentals- Rock Pirates Back Country adventures. We rode to the summit of Stony Pass which was stunning. Its a moderate trail. If you want super easy and ok views, rent at the base of Purgatory. Drove the SUV off road to Clear Lake about a 2 hr slow and at times scary ride. The OHV book we had said this trail could be done in a 4 wheel drive vehicle but I would only go in a truck designed for off roading. The rocks were not kind to the underside of my mostly plastic Barbie car Lexus! Adrenaline rush for the bf and me at times. Gorgeous views and a waterfall on the way up. BBQ place in Silverton was good. Nugget bar and slider truck is a must stop near the condo. Summer evenings on their patio with live music, drinks, food and friends could almost forget all about 2020. The pizza at Olde Schoolhouse Cafe and Saloon was surprisingly good. Run by a character from Chile which made it a fun and interesting place. Dog friendly patio at both Nugget and Olde Schoolhouse. Going into Durango is worth it once or twice for groceries. Wasn't that impressed with the restaurants there. Needles grocery, gas station, and liquor store was great in a pinch for snacks and zip ties to hold your car together after off roading. Tea sis."

"Stayed here with our two teen boys and dog when we got rained out of a camping trip. It could not have been a better place for us! Beautiful location with nearby hikes. Extremely clean, fully stocked kitchen (spotless sink, fridge, dishwasher, and oven!). Bathrooms were spacious and clean, beds were comfortable. I was concerned about cleanliness due to Covid risks, but we felt very safe and comfortable during our stay. It was lovely to open all the windows and enjoy the fresh air, and the balcony view was gorgeous. Mary Beth was so helpful with getting us booked. Would definitely stay here again!"

"The design of this condo is perhaps one of the best I've stayed in for couples. The bedrooms / baths are separated by the generous living space giving everyone privacy. I say couples because the beds are king size so you need to be ok with sharing !

Purgatory Lodge is convenient to lifts and offers nice amenities although the ski lockers never did work.

This particular condo needs new carpeting which is stained and better more thorough housekeeping besides a quick clean up (lights checked, towels put away, working fireplace, curtains properly hung) . The lighting is extremely poor throughout, very dim and dark. It would also be nice to have TV's and service necessary to be able to stream Netflix etc. The current viewing options are limited perhaps because this building doesn't have cable or strong enough Wifi ? Cell coverage is sporadic all over the mountain. But maybe we should all just unplug and enjoy the fresh air and gorgeous views...

It's this attention to detail however, that separates a " premier " property from basic accommodations. Property management was advised of these minor inconveniences and I have every confidence they will work with the owner to rectify. I have used Premier Vacation Rentals before and will continue to book with them again.

"The good and the not so good. The not so good first - consistent with other reviews, the condo is very dark even with all of the lights on. We tried to do a puzzle but couldn't see the colors even with a floor lamp pulled up to the table. Also, as other people mentioned, it smells like cigarette smoke. This is mostly in the main room, not the bedrooms. Opening the windows didn't help, but we did get used to it (although we had to get used to it each time we returned to the condo). THE GOOD - The condo its very spacious, the rooms are big and the beds are comfortable and it was clean. The kitchen was well stocked. The building is in a great location - ski/in ski out. Plus we loved the use of the members club in the building. Overall, we were very happy even with the smell and the dim lights."

"Overall the facility is very nice. Rooms and bathrooms were spacious and well maintained. Perfect if you are their during the ski season. The lighting is lacking, with all the lights on it was still very dark inside during the evening hours. Don't get there early. We checked in at the front desk 15 minutes early thinking things were ready. Room was not cleaned yet, the front desk does not help since it is a private residence."

"I came to stay for 3 nights. I planned on making dinners in the kitchen. There were only a couple of pots, no tin foil, no plastic wrap, and no snack bags. There were 6 paper napkins and a half a roll of paper towels. The kids tchen was stocked with NOTHING. There was not a sponge to wash the dishes. There were no cleaning products for me to tidy up the kitchen after I used it.. It was summer so the little store in the village was closed so I had to make ruined my experience. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this unit to anyone! Also,
I had to call the front desk to bring me soap and shampoo to take a shower. There response was this was a privately owned unit!
All in all it was super over priced...go stay somewhere else for lesss money and it will be better stocked!

"This is the perfect condo for a family to enjoy Purgatory. The condo was clean and set up beautifully for our family of 4, and the location is ideal. It is so nice to have the ski in/ski out ease in the winter and would be perfect for enjoying summer weather as well. Private but well connected to convenient restaurants, pool, workout, etc. There were some very minor maintenance issues with burned out lights and some broken bedroom blinds. The issues were very minor and management brought new light bulbs right away. We get up early for skiing anyway, so the blinds that wouldn't close all the way didn't present much of an issue."
