Description

Welcome to Sleepy Valley Hideaway!

Aaahhh – that feeling that washes over you as you begin your ascent to the High Country.

The higher the elevation, the lower the stress level. It's a chance to leave the heat and humidity, the faster pace and noises of the city, and embrace the peace and tranquility of the mountains. Welcome to Sleepy Valley Hideaway, thoughtfully designed to provide an oasis to its guests. Situated in the middle of several pastoral acres, it is deceptively close to town and everything you need, yet you'll feel like you're away from it all. This updated log house provides the charm of a mountain cabin and amenities aimed at comfort and ease.

The main level offers a great room with mountaintop and pastoral valley views, soaring vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings with exposed beams, hardwood floors, a gas log fireplace, and comfortable furniture that invites conversation and connection. A large armoire holds various games, puzzles, and cozy throw blankets. The adjacent open kitchen has stainless appliances, a gas cooktop, custom wood cabinets and is fully-stocked to delight the vacationing gourmet cook. The large dining table comfortably seats up to 10 guests. The pantry is just off the kitchen, complete with a high-efficiency washer and dryer and supplies for your canine companions.

Dogs are permitted with a maximum of 2 dogs and a 40-pound weight limit per dog. Allows pets with an additional fee paid after booking. The fee is $35 per pet per day.

The main-level King master suite enjoys views of mountaintops, the valley, and surrounding hills. A sizeable walk-in closet, a comfortable seating area for two, a large flat-screen HDTV, and a private ensuite bathroom with granite counters and a 'room-for-two' custom tiled shower complete the master suite.

The second main-level King bedroom has generous storage space, a cozy sitting area, and another large flat-screen HDTV. The adjacent full hallway bathroom offers a combo tub and shower.

The large upstairs King bedroom has an HDTV, a generous walk-in closet with additional bedding and iron/ironing board, and a sitting area with a full-sized pillow-top convertible sleeper sofa for extra sleeping options. The upstairs full bathroom, located between the bedroom and loft, has been updated recently.

The loft is a welcoming sanctuary for television viewing, reading, or gameplay. The comfy feathers sectional invites guests to sink into comfort while they watch a favorite show, enjoy a book from the loft bookshelves, or take a nap. The sofa can provide extra sleeping space if needed – it's that comfortable.

The fourth bedroom is on the lower level and offers two twin beds. An additional twin-sized folding cot is under the stairs and can be used wherever convenient for an additional sleeping option. The lower-level den has an HDTV, a working wood stove, and a walk-out glass door to the massive yard and ground-level courtyard. Adjacent to the den is a fun game area with a slate pool table. A full bathroom with a large shower rounds out the lower level. Yard games and equipment and picnic supplies are next to the bathroom in the lower level closet.

There are five HDTVs throughout the house. All are Smart TVs with digital cable programming. Three of the four bedrooms (excluding the bunk room) have HD Smart TVs, with two extra-large HD Smart TVs in the upper and lower living areas. High-speed WiFi Internet is available throughout the house as well.

Beyond all of the ample spaces to spread out inside, one of the most enjoyable features at Sleepy Valley Hideaway is the outdoors where you can extend your living space onto the massive covered deck wrapping around two sides of the house, and offering a gas grill, two outdoor dining areas, and a conversation set from which to soak in the mountain air. Further outdoor seating is available under the grape arbor, with perennial herbs and blueberry bushes available to enjoy seasonally. It's an ideal place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee, an evening glass of wine, or a summertime firefly light show.

Below the main level deck and accessible from the walk-out lower level den is a courtyard with a new hot tub, rocking chairs, and a lounge area.

Sleepy Valley Hideaway is outside Boone proper, conveniently centered in the High Country, making it close to local attractions. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is just 2 miles down the road at Bamboo Gap, providing a jumping-off point for multi-mile long-range views and exploration.

The Boone Greenway is an easy 2-mile drive if you are looking for a flat trail to walk, run, or bicycle. Brookshire Park, with numerous soccer fields, picnic areas, a bold creek, walking and running track, biking, hiking, and more, is also 2 miles away. For the more adventurous cycler, Rocky Knob mountain biking trails are 2.5 miles away. Twenty minutes in any direction will take you to rivers and lakes, hiking trails of all levels, or dozens of boutiques and antique shops. It truly is a vacation paradise with a home base that lets you be active or relax at whatever level appeals to you.

"The huge yard for our kids and us to play yard games was one of the reasons for the rental and it didn't disappoint. Having such a large covered deck area allowed for us to be outside in all weather. We enjoyed our stay there, inside and out."

"Our dog was able to enjoy a large deck to sit on and listen to the chirping of birds and the hooting of owls while looking at the gorgeous mountain views (he even saw a deer). He then greatly enjoyed playing on the large well-maintained lawn and exploring the bubbling creek. Inside he had bowls waiting for him and plenty of space to walk around on the main level to be with the people. He enjoyed sitting by the fire place on the chilly morning, too ! He was a bit sad we didn't share anything we had grilled on the well-kept gas grill, but he enjoyed other tidbits we cooked in the large, well-supplied kitchen. Overall, a perfect vacation for our best friend (and for us, too)."

"We have been coming to Boone for years putting 4 kids through App State and this was by far one of the best rentals we've stayed in. It was clean, well stocked, the location was excellent! We had so much fun playing in the yard with all of our adult children with the yard games provided. Only wish we had found it sooner!"

"Our stay at this lovely cabin was great! One of our favorites! The home was very clean and roomy. I like the open concept with the kitchen, dining and fireplace living room. It was a cozy place to chat and visit with my friends. The three levels of living space also gave us many options for spreading out. Each spacious and comfortable bedroom had a bathroom of their own to use and that is very important when adult friends are vacationing together! The upstairs den and TV room was so charming with all the bookshelves filled with interesting reading. But our absolute favorite place to hang out, was on the double deck porches that surrounded the house and overlooked the beautiful valley. So peaceful to relax on the comfy porch furniture. Thank you for sharing your little bit of Paradise with us. Hope to be back again! JDS"

"We enjoyed a beautiful weekend at Sleepy Valley Hideaway! The cabin was ideally located near town but one would not know based on the quietness. The cabin itself was clean and had all the things needed to make it a perfect stay for our family. This is our second rental with Carolina Cabin Rentals and we look forward to the next!"

"Lovely home and stay. Comfortable beds. Everything very nice. Only two constructive comments. Storm door at front obviously causes renters problems given the other key and evidence of tampering at multiple screen windows. Either remove the storm door or place an obvious sign to remind folks not to lock storm door. Or move keypad to garage side door. Biggest issue, HVAC is single zone. Upstairs hot, lowest level freezing. Our kids could not sleep down there because it was so cold. Not an easy fix but there are solutions to research and consider. Thank you. We had a nice time."

"Our family had an amazing stay at Sleepy Valley Hideaway. The beds and linens were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Every day we watched in awe as deer, groundhogs, and hummingbirds fed within view of the cabin. Our favorite was to sit on the porch each evening and watch for the fireflies to appear. At dusk hundreds of fireflies would begin to twinkle. We highly recommend this cabin and will return again next year."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and took advantage of all the amenities. We got to see the cow's walk by daily and 2 deer. The bird's chirping every morning was our favorite. Loved the hot tub! The only downside sitting on lower deck were the enormous amount of bugs and huge spider's. 2 black widows came very close to us so we had to stay on the upper deck. The furniture was great outdoors. No TV in living room was not good as 2 of us could not do stairs to watch so we walked around the beautiful garden to access lower level game room. Overall a beautiful place to stay. Could use a thorough cleaning inside especially the lights in the kitchen. Thank you for such a great experience."

"We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home, the valley is beautiful, the house has everything you could ask for to make your stay welcoming. The location is hidden but only a short distance from downtown Boone. We make this trip yearly and take the grands to Tweetsie for Day Out With Thomas the train, Grandfather Mountain has been my favorite since a child, Alpine Coaster was a new adventure this year, due to the inflation our country is seeing we had most of our meals at home with a well stocked kitchen and great grill for cooking. SPACE for everyone to enjoy down time was a plus. Thank you for sharing your Hidden Valley gem.. The weather was perfect, with cool temps and the Hot Tub is wonderful. We couldn't have picked a better week to stay now that the heat wave has set in. Love that it is pet friendly, our family pet and the kids loved the Huge yard, beautiful landscaping, chipmunks and wood chucks..."

"This place has everything. The location close to Nature provides one with untold variety of birds and their calls We saw deer grazing near the cabin. The resident beaver can be spied scampering from the old cabin to the creek and back again. Inside it is obvious that all everyone would want is included. We spent a relaxed four nights as we unwound from the rigors of life “down below “ We'll be back!"

"Sleepy Valley Hideaway was everything we hoped it would be and more! The location is perfect! You have your privacy because it's on a large piece of property but you are still very close to stores and restaurants. It's a beautiful home that's very clean and well appointed. The kitchen had ample dishes and cookware. There were several different areas to gather which is nice with a large group. The picnic table on the wrap around deck was the perfect spot to enjoy a meal. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were pretty and large. The hot tub was a huge bonus!"

"The cabin was perfect in every way. Location was wonderful for our needs. Only one small suggestion. The address sign, 313, was very difficult to see especially at night. Might be better if it was a little higher up. Also there were some very minor housekeeping issues. (Dirty dishes placed back into the cabinets) The cabin was wonderful and we do hope to use it again in the future. Thank you."
