"PERFECT for 2 families with KIDS- that includes teens and tweens! During February, while planning for a local vacation during my kids spring break, I suddenly realized my kids who are 12 and 13 have never seen or experienced snow. Realizing that Big Bear still has snow in March, I quickly called my friend who's in the same situation- spring break vacation and kids who've never seen snow. We quickly found this beautiful home- Big Bear Moonridge Retreat- formerly Sequoia Retreat. This home was perfect for my family of 4 and our friends who are also a family of four. As we drove up the home, we noticed the wooden bridge leading to the house which was a treat for my son who is all about forts and wooden cabin feels- you will get plenty of that. As we opened the door leading to the main floor, we were greeted by a cozy living room with a kitchen. Its open concept kitchen/living room invites the person prepping meals to also enjoy interacting with the family as they hang out. There's a wrap-around deck so you can enjoy the forest and fews without leaving the comfort of the home. There were two bedrooms on the main floor and two bedrooms on the second floor. The second floor also has a small living room area and a huge pool table and wrap around deck. Our tweens and teens basically made the second floor theirs while we parents enjoyed hanging out on the main floor. The house is also very centrally located- zoo is nearby so you can even walk there also walking distance to a great donut shot! Will come back again!"

"Sequoia Retreat was an amazing home for my family's weekend getaway to Big Bear. The home was amazing with two outdoor deck spaces and two living areas, one on the main level and the second on the lower level with a pool table. Great central location to all the activities like the zoo, slopes, grocery stores and a quick drive to the village."

"This is such a great house, in a great neighborhood next to the slopes, and everything we needed for our large family. Unfortunately the property management company is awful. When we arrived with our 5 kids and dog at 4: 00 the house had not been cleaned yet. Mind you you have to go to a property management office to check-in sign papers etc. And they sent us off to the house not knowing it hadn’t been cleaned yet. After calling the emergency number they said they would send a cleaning crew but didn’t know when they would be there. We drove back to the office to get more answers and the manager was rude, tossed my ID at me and never contacted us to let us know when the house was clean even though he said he would personally ally call us. The 7 of us and our dog drove around finding someplace with an outdoor patio in 25 degrees to eat. No luck at all. We sat on a closed restaurant patio until 7 then finally left to go back to the house. House was cleaned. Outdoor patios were not. Trash and dog poop were left behind. I cleaned towels to find that the dryer didn’t work and we leave with wet towels. Called property manager again. Asked for them to deliver towels I was told no. They said they would send a repair man. No one ever showed. Called back and a manger dropped off dry towels. Again we loved the home itself. It’s a shame the owners are connected with Big Bear Vacation property management."

"This is a big roomy cabin, with wrap around balconies on two levels. Great for our group of five adults and four children. Ample beds. Beginning to show its age, and could use a detailed cleaning. Located in a quiet area, away from traffic but is close to shops and restaurants."

"We really enjoyed everything except the stairs inside the cabin. The stairs are very steep and my dogs rolled down them and very scary when my 3 year old grand-daughter tried walking down there to her room."

"We paid an exorbitant rate to stay in this property over New Years. I was obligated to sign a lengthy contract with the property management company after paying VBRO, which included threats of big penalties. The house was gross. The central air return filter was so incredibly clogged with dust that it was collapsing. There was debris visible on all the floors and carpets. There was paint peeling off all over the bottom of the tub. The bed covers were stained. Windows were dirty, blinds layered with dust, dirty stove and oven, stains covered every chair cushion at the kitchen table... There was a giant Christmas tree in the family room depriving us of valuable space. The house accommodated eight but the kitchen table sat only four. We arrived exhausted in the night. I called to complain the next morning. I was assured that someone would be there to clean right away. Someone did come and replace the air filter, but no one ever showed up to clean. With no direct communication (e. g. apology) from the manager, I was given a whopping 12.5% refund by the management company. I wish I could post the pictures. VBRO is obviously a farce and Big Bear Vacations is a lousy, greedy management company."

"We had a great time at the cabin. Only fall backs were the fact that they did not have paper towel, enough toilet paper (only had two for a group of 11), and the trash drop off being ~~1.5 miles away. Overall the place was good."

"Over all it was a good house to rent and had enough space. It needs a light on the wall way to the house for there is a step you can not see. But had an excellent stay."

"The property itself, and convenient location makes it easy to escape yet at the same time, go into town, go on walks, trail hikes or time at the lake. The house has everything you need, and a nice size yard as well. Whether we were outside or inside, we are always comfortable, relaxed, and having fun."

"The property was in a great location. It was still a little dirty when we checked in with dog hair under the table. The outside patio. Furniture was also very dusty. The property manager was good about sending 2 fans as it was a little warm when we checked in. The property is surrounded by trees and really pretty. The bunk beds are very uncomfortable and could use new mattresses."
