Description

Trails End Lodge is the perfect getaway for those ready to explore! This three bedroom, two bath home has the trailhead for Upper Pond Creek Trail on site, and is across the street from Perry Park and the trailhead for Overlook Trail.

Exactly one mile from Beech Mountain Ski Resort, Trails End Lodge is an updated Beech Mountain home with access to activities year round, including hiking, skiing, tubing, mountain biking, golfing, fishing, whitewater rafting, & wine tasting. Enter the living room, with the gas log fireplace that starts with the push of a remote and smart TV with Apple TV/Netflix/Hulu. The large sectional and recliners give room to gather after a meal. The kitchen is beautifully redone, with a butcherblock island, stainless appliances, leathered granite counters, wine cooler, and a coffee lover's station, complete with Keurig, a 12 cup coffee maker, French press, grinder, and a tea kettle, as well. Off of the kitchen is the game area, with foosball and a drawer stocked with card games. The dining table is a small step up with seating for 6. Bar seating for 5 is available at the island and bar-style table beside the sofa.

The main level has a Queen bedroom with Roku TV. The first full bath is in the hallway just before the bedroom with a shower. Upstairs is a loft with desk and chair, should a bit of work carry over during your stay. Two bedrooms are upstairs, a Queen bedroom with Roku TV, and a King with a smart LG TV. They share a spacious bathroom with double granite vanity and a tub/shower comb.

On the deck is a covered area with outdoor dining for six. Rocking chairs sit next to the fire pit, overlooking the large yard and the trailhead for Upper Pond Creek Trail. On the lower deck there are more seats to sit and relax or soak in the new hot tub while listening to the creek.

"We loved Trails End Lodge! The mountainside location is spectacular with deer occasionally ambling by as you sit on the large deck. It's one of the best equipped vacation rentals we've stayed in. The kitchen has plenty of quality dishes, silverware, utensils and cookware, as well as equipment, including a great blender for making blended margaritas! There's also a Weber gas grill just off the side deck. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of blankets and pillows to pick from. They also didn't skimp on towels, something we find frustrating in some rentals. We were also pleased with the property management company. We had a minor issue that they took care of in no time. All in all, a great place to stay!"

"Our stay at the home was absolutely amazing. We had a great time cooking in the wonderful & excellently stocked kitchen. Everything has been thought of, with champagne glasses so we could toast our engagement, to all the pots, pans and trays you could need. The views are stunning especially after you have fully loaded the deer stand with food. Beach Mtn deer didn't even wait for me to fill it, they were stood within yards of me waiting for me to leave. All the bedrooms are super comfortable & sofa is so comfy you might not make it up to the beds. The weather was cold so we enjoyed the hikes that start within 50 yards of the front door, but could look forward to the amazing hot tub when we returned. Hike up to the restaurant ls & Freds took about 20 mins. Hike down to the lake took a bit longer. Overall, without doubt a 10/10 home to stay in on beach mountain."

"It is a steep winding drive up the mountian to stay here but overall it was worth it! The driveway is kind of steep downward and gravel, I could not imagine doing it without 4 wheel drive, especially in the winter. The temperature is cooler up in the mountians and you are way up there. The creek trails and waterfall right there were great. The house itself was nice and pretty clean except I had to sweep up some dead bugs upon arrival. I did try to ask about how to get the water and ice to work on the refrigerator and I was told someone would contact me, but never did. We just used ice packs and bottled water, but for a longer trip the fridge working properly would be way more convenient. There were plenty of towels, the beds and furniture were comfortable, they supplied a good amount of starter items, the hot tub was clean and looked brand new. We loved deer watching and playing in the creek. We had a great stay and would definitely stay there again! Thank you for having us"

"Overall, we had a great time at this property and had a memorable vacation. The property was clean and was everything we expected. The kitchen was stocked with the items we needed and the hot tub was great. We were happy with the location and the area activities. We had an issue with check in though. We got there later in the day so it was after normal business hours. Our code to enter the property didn’t work. We couldn’t get ahold of anyone at the after hours number and it would go straight to voicemail. It took an hour and a half for us to finally hear from someone after multiple calls, a Facebook message and an email. Communicating with management about this issue wasn’t super easy either. Although that was a stressful situation, we did end up having a great stay."

"We loved this property! We've been coming to Beech for years and recently sold our condo so we've been renting. This cabin is right around the corner from the Beech Ski slopes. It is situated right above a creek and right next to a walking trail. It was perfect for our kids, age 5 and 7. The kitchen was fully loaded, the linens great and towels well stocked. The king bed cradles you for a deep sleep. The upstairs bathroom is between both of the bedrooms which was ok for us because we were just with our kids. My only “dislike” was there was only a sliding door to section off the toilet and not a full closing door for the bathroom. Again, ok with us but if you were traveling with friends it may not be private enough. Then again there is a full bedroom and bath downstairs if needed. The hot tub was great and much needed after skiing and rainy days. Overall we loved it and will probably stay there again."

"This cabin was a great choice for our thanksgiving vacation. It was very cozy and there were plenty of blankets to snuggle under while watching TV or the deer as they roamed the property near the cabin. We hiked some of the trails near the cabin and walked around the property. There was plenty of space to prepare meals and seat everyone at the table. The foosball table was well used and we also played some of the card games available at the cabin. We visited some of the numerous attractions available in the area. "A great location on Beech Mountain, with access to many local day trips. We enjoyed the cool nights out by the fire pit on the deck, listening to the babbling creek. Coffee on the deck in the morning was wonderful. If you love nature, this is it! We had daily visits from the local deer each day between 4-6. While we didn't cook much because we were on the go so much, there was a wonderful cooking kitchen. Gas fireplace added some heat and romantic ambiance for some cool nights. Lovely place."

"The cottage is located in what seems to be a very secluded and peaceful inlet on Beech Mountain. (About 4,600 feet above sea level). The location was perfect for our family. Close to a creek and walking/hiking trails. The cottage appears to have brand new carpeting and very inviting and cozy decor. Everything you could possibly need for a long stay was provided in the kitchen. There were games, Netflix and wifi! Rain or shine the cabin was perfect for all of us. We were 5, with 3 daughters ages 16-20 and they loved it just as much as we did. The deer encounters were the highlight of our trip. The deers are people friendly and they were always behind the property. Definitely looking forward to staying here again, maybe in the fall."

"A cabin oasis feel in Beech mountain! I spent an exquisite four days in this cabin in April. The location is situated with enough space between cabins and lucky enough right near a hike trail towards a lake. The living room area is an open concept which works out great with a big group because we all lounged together though in different areas of the cabin (living room, dining or kitchen). The kitchen is quite stocked with all utensils you may need, even to bring left overs for a picnic or hike. The bedrooms are quite cozy and the bathrooms spacious. The location is also convenient enough to drive to the downtown area nearby where you can have a good meal, go wine tasting or about 20 min away from grandfather mountain. Overall it was a wonderful weekend and I would totally visit again. Highly recommend this place!"

"The cabin is spacious & feels super cozy. It’s perfect for a weekend away. Tucked away in the steep hills, you can feel the love in this cozy cabin from the minute you step foot in the door. Every detail was thought through - from coffee, laundry, guest rooms, casual seating throughout, open kitchen, spacious dining & don’t even get me started on the outdoor decks & balconies overlooking the scenery. The towels, linens, blankets, wine cooler, bedding, couches, games, tiny soaps, face wipes, dishes AND so much more, were beyond a regular rental property. This place truly makes you feel right at home. One of my favorite moments was walking down to the creek & taking a small hike down along the water. It was a highlight of the trip for sure!
