Welcome to Mountain Mojo!

Newly-renovated and refreshed upscale 6BR 5.5BA vacation home with a bright and open "farmhouse modern" style! Mountain Mojo sits on approximately 11 gently-rolling acres, all navigable and safe for children to explore. It offers blueberry fields, a creek that skirts one border of the property, a large open meadow, and rolling wooded acreage, all accessible to guests and most of which is visible from the house! Within walking distance and visible from the front patio is the Banner Elk Winery! Don't miss out on a chance to enjoy a tasting or a lovely dinner at the neighboring winery.

The house itself has two levels. The main/upper floor has a level entry on the side of the home facing the driveway and parking area, while the lower floor has multiple exterior entrance options. All but one are level-entry with no steps from the other side of the house. The oversized two-car attached garage offers entrance into the kitchen and easy entry. A level gravel driveway and large, level parking area make access extremely easy and provide plenty of parking for numerous vehicles.

Once inside, the main level features open-concept living with a huge great room and open kitchen and dining area. There are luxury touches like coffered ceilings, the stone fireplace - custom-designed and hand-crafted, wood-burning and open on three sides, and comfy-yet-contemporary designer furniture. Coupled with huge oversized windows which welcome lots of sunlight and frame picturesque mountain views, the great room at Mountain Mojo is a spectacular space for entertaining, gathering with family and friends, or relaxing beside a warm fire.

The open and expansive kitchen has updated Quartz countertops, stainless appliances, an apron-front farm-style sink, a custom stone backsplash, and plenty of storage space in the cabinets and pantry. The central kitchen island has barstool seating for 4. Add that to the banquet-style dining table with seating for 10, and up to 14 guests can dine indoors together! Wood floors and exposed beams blend rustic mountain warmth with a clean, bright modern contrast - characterized by the paint color, light fixtures, finishes, and furniture - creating a fresh-yet-familiar, comfortable and appealing "farmhouse modern" character.

The main level also offers 4 bedrooms, two of which are suites and 3.5 bathrooms. For convenience, the half bath/powder room is close to the great room and kitchen area. The primary master suite is generous in size. It features a King bed, a nook with a desk, a sitting area, an HD Smart TV, and mountain views. The recently-renovated private ensuite master bathroom features a large shower with tile and frameless glass and a Quartz vanity countertop with "His & Hers" sinks. The second main-level suite has a Queen bed, an HD Smart TV, and a private ensuite bathroom. There is another Queen bedroom with an HD Smart TV and a King bedroom, with an HD Smart TV, mountain views, and direct entrance into a full bathroom, also accessible from the hallway, with a tub and shower combo.

The lower level boasts a huge step-down den and game room with a shuffleboard table, a large comfy sofa with a Queen sleeper for extra sleeping options, a large HD Smart TV, and an electric fireplace that adds warmth and ambiance. Two more bedrooms are on this level. The first is a large suite with a King bed, a Twin-over-Twin bunk bed, HD Smart TV, sitting area, and private EnSuite full bathroom. The second lower-level bedroom offers a Queen bed and HD Smart TV. A second full hallway bathroom on the lower level is convenient to the den and game room and the Queen bedroom.

The substantial open-air patio off the great room and kitchen/dining area features a stainless gas grill and a beautiful teak outdoor dining table that seats up to 8 guests. There are views of the mountaintops, the rolling valley meadows, acres of blueberry bushes followed by acres of grapevines, and the winery estate from this patio. Two steps lead down into the yard, which rolls gently downhill from the house. Guests can enjoy the wood-burning fire feature in the yard. During harvest season, guests are also welcome to enjoy picking fresh organic blueberries from the acres of blueberry bushes. Guests can venture down to the creek, which borders this property at the end of the open meadow, and their border in the block of woods.

Mountain Mojo has WiFi internet, digital programming and Smart TV options for 8 HD Smart TVs, and central heat and air conditioning for year-round comfort.

Well-mannered dogs are welcome at Mountain Mojo. Two (2) maximum per reservation, with a 50-pound weight limit per dog. Standard pet fees do apply, and dogs must be kept crated or kenneled if left unattended at any point during your stay.
*Allows pets with an additional fee paid after booking. The fee is $35 per pet per day.

Mountain Mojo is a peaceful mountain getaway with plenty of privacy and elbow room, yet also conveniently close to everything the High Country offers! The downtown area of Banner Elk is less than 3 miles away and boasts numerous fantastic restaurants, shops, and community parks. The exciting Alpine Wilderness Run outdoor roller coaster is less than 6 miles away. Beech Mountain Ski Resort, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, and the Sugar Mountain Public Golf Club are less than 8 miles away, offering proximity for snow skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, snow tubing, and sledding! Grandfather Mountain and its popular Profile hiking trails are less than 10 miles away. Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zip Line Park is 13 miles away. "This house was perfect for our big group of 15. We do an annual trip with a river float and the Virginia Creeper Trail, so the location was right in the middle. The house was so spacious and roomy. The outside firepit had an amazing view and the Banner Elk Winery is within walking distance. We will definitely book again."

"Our family of 8 adults and 8 children, ranging in age from 2 to 16 years, had a wonderful vacation of 3 nights. The Lord blessed us with a beautiful snowfall during our first night there and we woke up to a Winter Wonderland! The children (our grandchildren) enjoyed sledding on the hills right outside the back door. We watched from the deck as they delighted in the sledding and playing in the snow. We never felt crowded. We sat all 16 of us in the living room on the couches, chairs, and floor. The fireplace was delightful! Making meals in the spacious kitchen with the big island and lots of counter space was easy and enjoyable. The half bath off the kitchen was appreciated with little ones. Everyone slept comfortably in the beds. We had four families and assigned the bedrooms for practicality and comfort. My husband and I took the master suite on the first floor and it was very nice! Driving up the winding roads in the dark, while raining, then snowing was a little scary for our family coming in later. But, with prayer, all arrived safely. We can definitely see that, in a heavy snow, chains would be beneficial on the tires. An unforgettable experience at Mountain Mojo!"

"We especially loved the view looking toward Beech Mountain which can be seen from the kitchen/dinning room, deck, and firepit area. The owners recently installed a hot tub. You can take in the same view while soaking in the tub. This place has its own blueberry farm! Hoping to make it back during summer and go picking. If you walk past the blueberries there's a winery. The kids especially enjoyed playing in the flat yard."

"Our stay at Mountain Mojo could not have been better! The views were breathtaking and the view was perfect. The largest master bedroom was very comfortable and the large open kitchen and dining room table were perfect for cooking, eating and board games. The picturesque fire pit was a wonderful spot for relaxing and enjoying the views of the mountains. During our visit, the blueberries in the adjacent field were fully ripe and community picking was encouraged. The berries and well stocked kitchen made for delicious desserts! The walking trails were beautiful and led through spectacular wooded areas full of huge rhododendron. We thoroughly enjoyed out short walk to the winery within sight of the house. We checked off o our bucket list, a thrilling and very memorable visit to the Grandfather Mountain swinging bridge, only 20 minutes away. Overall, our stay was extremely comfortable, peaceful and exhilarating. We are already looking forward to another get-away next year."

"We loved the house. It accommodated our large group well. We most enjoyed the outside areas - lots of meals on the back deck, lots of playing in the yard (corn hole was awesome), lots of firepit conversations. Suggestions - a garbage disposal would be so helpful; there were not enough bath towels provided; we purchased and left for you a new manual can opener and wine bottle opener, as the ones there were not functional. The maintenance staff was helpful in picking up trash mid-week. Overall, a great location and we will likely rent again. Thank you!

Thank you very much for you feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay! The owner cares very much about his guest's experience and will be doing an inventory of all kitchen items in the near future to ensure that the kitchen is fully stocked with a wide array of kitchen items. We hope you come back soon!

"We stayed at Mountain Mojo with our extended family. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out, loved the downstairs game room for the kids to hang out, as well as the large porch with plenty of seating or around the large dining room table. We enjoyed wine on the back porch (plus a trip to the winery just down the hill) while the kids played cornhole, football in the yard, and roasted smores by the fire. The management company was extremely responsive to a few minor issues (some were our fault - user errors) that we had upon check in. Answered after hours and texted the following day to keep us updated with the status (which including mowing the yard within a day of request as the grass was a little too high for the kids to enjoy - great customer service getting the lawn company out asap). Lots of choices of things to do in the general vicinity, as well as some great restraunts just down the hill in Banner Elk. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

"Spent a long weekend at Mountain Mojo with old friends and could not have asked for a better place. Nearly all the windows offer nice views. The view to the west is spectacular! It overlooks the Banner Elk winery (which you can walk to) and beyond that you can see the back of Beech Mountain ski area. If you look closely you can just make out one of the ski lifts. You can see this view from the living room, dinning room, kitchen, and best of all from the deck and fire pit area! We had 16 in our party and had plenty of room inside the house... even on our one rainy day. All the bedrooms are set up nicely with either king beds or queens. Four of the six bedrooms have their own full bathroom. The other two bedrooms have a full bath just a few steps away so everyone was very comfortable. Can't wait to stay here again with the grandkids and watch them play outside in one of the grassy areas, the huge driveway, or the woods behind the house."

"When we booked this house it had no reviews yet and we were slightly nervous but it turned out perfect. I would absolutely book this place again. We had 14 adults and 2 small children and we never felt crowded. There are plenty of bathrooms so you never have to wait. It’s furnished pretty well with all the things you need to cook and clean. The inside is decorated nice. The property itself is beautiful and has nice views. The only thing I would recommend to change is the outdoors fire pit. There is no seating unless you carry chairs from the porch and the rocks used to make the actual pit are falling apart and do not stay in place. However, that’s a very tiny detail and could be fixed very easily.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so happy to hear that you had a great stay! The owner has completely redone the fire pit area including adding seating. We hope you come back soon so you can enjoy the new, fantastic fire pit!

"We held a long overdue family reunion at Mountain Mojo recently. Sixteen of us stayed at the house very comfortably! We did not feel cramped at all. Everybody had a bed to sleep in and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need. The teenagers especially enjoyed having their own hang-out space in the bonus room. The views from the house are absolutely beautiful, it's a short walk to the winery, and a short drive gets you to the town of Banner Elk or to the ski slopes. Can't wait to go back!"

"What an amazing place to stay! Can't believe how gorgeous the views are from this hilltop, updated ranch. There are soooo many rooms with lots of open areas to hang out in and have fun. All the bedrooms are beautifully decorated, comfy and cozy. Fireplaces in the living room and basement bonus room warm the place right up. There's a huge deck to enjoy the beautiful sunsets that overlook Banner Elk Winery with views of Beech Mountain too! It's also just a few minutes to downtown Banner Elk and Sugar Mountain for skiing. I just can't think of a better place to stay at that feels like home and has all the amenities."

"We stayed at this modern mountainside house nestled in Banner Elk over President's day weekend. Many upsides: beautiful views from all sides of the house of the winery, the woods and the mountainside sleeping for 16 people, with comfortable beds, lots of flat screens and privacy. 4 bedrooms have their own full bathroom and there are 1.5 more bathrooms 5 min from the center of town (make reservations for anything you want to do, especially on holiday weekends) minutes from Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain Resorts (lots of Winter and Summer activities) minutes from many hiking trails, you can even hike the property of the house itself, as there are many hills if you are up for the challenge spacious deck with patio furniture overlooking the mountainside and winery outdoor fire pit we enjoyed the short walk from the house to the winery to enjoy wine tasting Bottom line. A great spot for a family reunion or to reunite with friends. Will repeat our visit."
