At its center is Lake Arthur, a man-made lake which welcomes a million visitors a year to swim, sail or kayak. There are 29.2 miles of marked trails in Moraine State Park, all with color coded marker posts. Pick up a trail map from the park office close to the Moraine State Park cabins and pick the length of trail which suits you or your family best. Moraine offers a range of walking on paved roads as well as more challenging trails.

This is a great choice of walk for people who prefer level ground. This is a loop walk which will take you back to the starting point. Along the way you will pass the lake, marshy areas and woodlands. Keep your eyes peeled for birds, deer and other wildlife.

More challenging walking can be found on the 14.8 Glacier Ridge Trail, which winds through the forest and offers amazing views back across Lake Arthur. One of the basic Moraine State Park cabins is located on this trail if you want to attempt it over two days.

If you want to spend more than a day at Moraine, then there are a selection of modern cabins for rent. Moraine State Park hotels and cabins are an excellent option and allow you to experience the park at night, after most of the visitors have gone home.

One of the more unusual options for having fun at Moraine is disc golfing. This sport is played with a Frisbee, and the hole is a basket target. All ages can play with very little practice and Moraine has a full 18 hole course.
