Hiking in Hickory Run State Park is rewarding for all ages and levels of experience. Younger hikers visiting Hickory Run State Park will enjoy this easy, 0.5-mile trail that reaches the shores of Sand Spring Lake. Picnicking on the beach is an ideal way to unwind during the summer.
1.3-mile trail is also among the easiest in the park and hikers can observe the location of the former village where wildflowers grow among the foundations.
The famous Boulder Field, a unique National Natural Landmark, is found along this slightly more challenging 3.5-mile hike. Hikers will also pass through the hemlock, spruce and beech forests that are home to bears, owls and wild turkeys.
Despite the name, this very challenging trail is among the most spectacular in the park. Meandering through rhododendron thickets and over rock formations, hikers will eventually reach the Stametz Falls.
