Stargazing is the most exhilarating family activity available at Cherry Springs State Park. Even young children will enjoy the chance to stargaze for a couple of hours. Make the most of the park's unique location, high in the Allegheny mountains and far from the light pollution of built-up areas, to indulge in some amateur astronomy.
In daylight hours, you can join one of the local rangers for a guided walk around the park. Their expert knowledge will help you spot some of the local wildlife. You can also sign up for private star tours if you feel like you need some expert astronomical guidance when the sun goes down.
Taking place every August since 1952, this family-friendly show involves demonstrations of lumberjack skills including tree felling, log rolling and even chainsaw sculptures.
