Macroplaza
This town square is a major attraction with an area of almost 100 acres. It consists of several monuments with neighboring gardens and smaller plazas. Fuente de Neptuno – which represents the Roman god Neptune surrounded by a bronze fountain is a sight to behold. Other landmarks include a lighthouse of 230 feet called Faro del Comercio.
Fundidora Park
Fundidora Park, located to the east of Monterrey, is an urban public park that has all amenities for the public like a playground, walking track and a pavement for joggers and cyclists. With a vivid history, it now serves as a recreational center for visitors and locals alike.
Santa Lucia Riverwalk
It is an artificial river that connects the Macroplaza to the Fundidora Park. This man-made river walk is one of Mexico’s Thirteen Wonders. A riverboat ride across this magnificent river offers stellar views of pristine fountains and greenery all around.
Museum of Steel
The Museum of Steel is situated in the Fundidora Park and is an adaptation of the Fundidora steel plant that was retired in the mid 80's. The museum now stands as an educational focal point depicting the history of the blast furnace with underground tours to the coal mine.
Cerro de la Silla
Cerro de la Silla is a uniquely shaped organic mountain that includes four peaks and has an area of 23 square miles. Because of its uniqueness, it has become a favorite recreational spot with hikers following the ascent of a 3-mile trail to make it to the top.
