With water sports, nature trails, picnic sites, camping spots, and a lot more, Clarkco offers 815 acres of unadulterated fun. You can camp or bring an RV to the park, while Clarkco State Park hotels offer particularly comfortable respite at the end of a long day outdoors.

Best Hiking Trails in Clarkco State Park

Depending where you stay in the various Clarkco State Park cabins, you'll likely traverse some or all of the park's singular trail, which makes a five-mile loop around the lake. Cyclists are also permitted to use this trail.

  • 1. Nature trail

Clarkco State Park's five-mile nature trail encircles the entire park. Open all year round, this well-marked stretch will take you to a natural spring at the Spring Island Rest Area. The paved surface makes it an easy walk for people of all skill levels, and there are sectioned portions for shorter walks as well.

  • 2. Observation tower

The nature trail is sectioned off into half-mile stretches. Be sure to hike to section at the top end of Clarkco Lake, where an observation tower provides ample views over the park.

  • 3. Paddling

It might not be hitting the trails per se, but for those with their own kayaks or canoes, the boat launch on 65-acre Clarkco Lake makes it easy to "hike" via a day spent paddling.
