General Mitchell International Airport is a 25-minute drive from the campus, via I-41. From there, it's a 15-minute drive to Downtown, where Milwaukee Bay overlooks the glorious Lake Michigan. The larger Chicago O'Hare International Airport is an 80-minute drive from the college.
When passing through the Downtown area you are likely to cross over or drive past the Hoan Bridge. This award-winning construction features a tied-arch design. The back of Milwaukee Art Museum resembles the flipper of an enormous whale. The Flemish Renaissance-style City Hall dates from 1895 and wouldn't look out of place in an old European public square.
There are numerous breweries to choose from although Miller-Coors, Great Lakes Distillery and the Historic Pabst Brewery are among the most popular. They will illuminate visitors on the importance of the brewing industry in the city and offer the opportunity to sample the product.
Throughout the year various ethnic groups, industries and popular music genres of Milwaukee are celebrated in the town. From the Asian Moon Festival to the Arab World Fest, Indian Summer and German Fest, there is almost always something going on.
