A long held tradition at the fair, men and women from all over the United States compete in more than 27 wood-related events during Woodsmen's Field Day, such as springboard, crosscut, tree felling, axe throwing, standing block and bucksawing among many other fun events. The events go on all day long and awards are handed out at regular intervals.
The Fram Museum offers numerous demonstrations and displays of trade and craft memorabilia from the time of New England’s early industries. Visitors can experience how activities like harness making, potash making, leather tanning, log driving and sugar production were carried out in those days.
The best way to enjoy a fair is undoubtedly going on rides and the Fryeburg Fair does not disappoint. Fairgoers usually have an amazing time on fair-favorite rides like the Sky Diver or the Giant Gondola Wheel. Then there are exciting rides like the Dragon Wagon, Musical Chairs Swing and, for the little ones, Raiders.
