When you're in town to visit the University of Louisville, you'll also want to make time to stroll the stately streets of Old Louisville, as well as check out iconic Churchill Downs. It's also ideal to have a car in this city, but the Transit Authority of River City (TARC) provides public transportation in the Greater Louisville area.
1. The university campuses
Belknap Campus, which is the school's main campus, is located three miles south of downtown Louisville. Louisville International Airport is just to its south. Just east of downtown Louisville is where the school's Health Sciences Center can be found. The third campus, Shelbyhurst, is located on the eastern side of the city.
2. What to do in Louisville
Louisville is well known for hosting the most famous thoroughbred racing event in history, the Kentucky Derby. This is the oldest, continually held horse race in the world. You'll find the Kentucky Derby Museum right near campus, so you can easily learn more at any time of year.
3. Campus visits
#visittheville is a campus visit program hosted by the Admissions Office from Monday to Friday and on select Saturdays. Visitors take a guided 90-minute tour of the campus after a half-hour information session.
