How We Produced This Guide
We researched 5 different data points for each of the Oktoberfest events: The price of entry, the number of attendees, the average rating awarded by visitors, the price of beer, and the average price of accommodation. All results were assigned a numerical value between 0 and 10, with 0 representing the lowest score and 10 the highest. To calculate these scores we used the following equation:
Total Score = Ticket Score + Popularity Score + Visitor Score + Beer Score + Accommodation Score
(i) = 10 ((i-min)/(max-min))
Ticket Score: Based on the affordability of entry tickets. The Oktoberfest with the cheapest entry tickets was awarded a maximum score of 10, and the Oktoberfest with the most expensive tickets was awarded a 0.
Popularity Score: Based on annual attendance. The Oktoberfest that attracted the most visitors last year was awarded a maximum score of 10, and the Oktoberfest with the lowest attendance last year was awarded a 0.
Visitor Score: Based on online reviews given by visitors. The Oktoberfest that has the best online visitor rating was awarded a maximum score of 10, and the Oktoberfest with the lowest online visitor rating last year was awarded a 0.
Beer Score: Based on the affordability of beer. The Oktoberfest with the cheapest beer was awarded a maximum score of 10, and the Oktoberfest with the most expensive beer was awarded a 0.
Accommodation Score: Based on the affordability of overnight accommodation listed on HomeToGo during the respective dates of each Oktoberfest festival, based on a group of 2. The Oktoberfest with the cheapest overnight accommodation was awarded a maximum score of 10, and the Oktoberfest with the most overnight accommodation was awarded a 0.
