Here's how to get to the college from the airport. Look forward to discovering amazing sights once you arrive on the gorgeous Hawaiian island of Oahu.
Daniel K. Inouye International Airport is only 20 minutes' drive to the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. You'll pass along the I-H-1 and through the center of stunning Honolulu. The university is sandwiched between the mountains and the beaches.
Any visitor to Honolulu needs to visit Waikiki, the gorgeous and popular stretch of coast by the center of the city. Whether you fancy surfing, swimming, or sunbathing, you'll love the vibrant beach life here. Be sure to check out a luau, a traditional feast and dance party that's an important part of Hawaiian culture.
Head to the downtown Ala Moana Center for shopping, perhaps for some "slippahs" (the local word for sandals). You can also learn more about the island in this district by visiting attractions such as the Hawaii State Art Museum and the Mission Houses Museum. Make sure to check out Aloha Tower, where there's an observation deck that's free to access.
The airport and several important historic and cultural sites, such as the USS Arizona Memorial and the Pacific Aviation Museum at Pearl Harbor, are in the western part of Honolulu. For some relaxation, stroll through the Moanalua Gardens, which were royal parkland during the times of the Hawaiian monarchy.
