Hunting Island Lighthouse
This striking monochrome lighthouse towers over the coast, illuminating its rocks and guiding mariners with its glow. The original was built in 1853, but was blown up by retreating confederate forces in 1861 to hinder the oncoming Union fleet. It's the only lighthouse in South Carolina that the public can climb.
