Best Hiking Trails in Dreher Island State Park
Dreher State Park has 12 miles of shoreline and many hiking trails over its 300 acres. Little Gap Trail is excellent for advanced hikers, Billy Dreher Nature Trail is full of wildlife. Dreher Island State Park cabins are a great base from which to explore.

Hike this invigorating trail and marvel at the local hardwoods and pines. Keep an eye out and you might even catch sight of the bald eagles which are native to this area. It's a looped trail which is marked by white rocks for easy navigation.

2. Billy Dreher Nature Trail
This is an easygoing trail perfect for beginners. Spot ducks, turtles, and geese that can be found along the shore. You can also see the ruin of Billy Dreher's home – the park's former owner – while walking this path. It's open from dawn to dusk.

Walk this multi-use trail that connects the tackle shop and the camping area. It is 0.3 miles in length and it has a natural surface of a wooded quality. You can bring your dog if you keep it on a leash.
