Best Hiking Trails in Dinosaur Valley State Park
Whether you are a seasoned hiker or taking your first cautious steps, Dinosaur Valley State Park is an excellent destination for walkers of all abilities. Most trails are family friendly and range from quick excursions of less than an hour to longer tours.

1. Paluxy River Nature Trail
At a quarter of a mile long and taking around 20 minutes each way, you will see the region's best plant life along this well-paved trail that is ideal for beginners and younger explorers. Take this short hike first as an introduction to the area.

2. Limestone Ledge Trail
One of the best spots for seeing dinosaur tracks, this trail passes along a different part of the Paluxy River. It's just under a mile long and takes about 30 minutes to complete.

3. Buckeye Trail
Over a mile long and taking around 45 minutes, you can look out for the natural waterfalls lining this gorgeous path spanning Buckeye Creek.

4. Cedar Brake Outer Loop
Over 7.5 miles long and taking about 3.5 hours to finish, this is a great trail for spending the afternoon exploring the perimeter of the park and admiring the limestone ridges.

See the burial place of Elizabeth Crockett, second wife of Davey Crockett, surely one of America's most famous folk heroes. The Acton State Historic Site is just a half-hour drive from Glen Rose.
