Thanks to its location of the Metro North Railroad, Fairfield University is fairly easy to reach. Once there, head to neighboring Bridgeport, a historic port town, for a stroll, or to Milford's Silver Sands State Park, where you can enjoy birdwatching and the beach.
There are multiple buses which run between the university campus and the charming town of Fairfield. Regular service connects the college buildings with locations such as Post Road and the local train station. There are regular trains which run between New York's Grand Central Terminal and the town of Fairfield. From the station you can easily reach the campus by bus.
There are multiple parking lots at Fairfield which are allocated both a letter between A and N and an additional number. Those who wish to park on campus must arrange a permit in advance of their visit and no persons affiliated with the university are allowed to park in the surrounding neighborhoods. The speed limit on all campus grounds is 20 miles per hour.
Though based in Connecticut, the closest airports to Fairfield University are located elsewhere in the tri-state area. John F. Kennedy Airport and LaGuardia Airport in New York as well as Newark, in New Jersey, are the closest airports. From each of these, you can connect to local transportation options in order to reach Grand Central Terminal, and from there, continue on by train.
