Mont Cadillac
If you want to be the first person in the United States to see the morning sun, come here October 7th through March 6th. Cadillac is the highest point on the North Atlantic seaboard, one of twenty mountains created by the earth's tectonic plates millions of years before humans first traversed their slopes.
Thunder Hole
Another gem of Acadia National Park, the gigantic crashes of white waves that erupt at Thunder Hole make a sound like distant thunder. Water splashes as high as 40 feet in the air.

Asticou Azalea Garden
Aflame with colors throughout the year, these landscaped gardens are lush with azaleas, flowering cherry trees, iris and rhododendrons. The Lantern Stroll on July 20th illuminates the garden with Japanese floating lanterns and good cheer, to traditional koto music.
Otter Cliffs
Near Thunder Hole, you'll find the Otter Cliffs, one of the tallest headlands to the north of Rio de Janeiro. Just off the cliff is the striking Monument Cove, a crescent of land encircling the clear water where the rock faces turn gold in the evening light.
