Cheaha State Park cabins are perfect for reconnecting with the great outdoors and embarking on one of the numerous trails around the park. There are walks to satisfy all mobility levels ranging from ones which take several hours to those which can be completed in 30 minutes.
This moderate trail through Cheaha State Park is nearly seven miles long. It passes various landmarks including waterfalls and densely wooded areas. Dogs are permitted as long as they are kept on a leash.
Despite being less than a mile, the steep incline makes this trail a little challenging but fine for most with moderate fitness levels. The pay off here is the stunning views from the peak of the climb, with verdant landscapes visible as far as the eye can see.
This moderately challenging route is full of undulating landscapes for the duration the seven mile trail. There are several excellent viewpoints along the way through the outcrops and it is a wonderful hike to do any time of the year.

Lake Cheaha, located at the foot of the impressive Cheaha Mountain is an idyllic spot for fishing with the family. Take to the 6-acre lake and catch yourself a bass or bluegill and it is free to use the lake for one day. Lake Chinnabee is located just outside the park and another excellent spot for fishing.
At the edge of the lake is an excellent playground, complete with picnic tables and grills for a family BBQ. It is within walking distance from Cheaha State Park cabins and the playground is covered with loose wood chippings to make it safe and child-friendly.
This popular activity is great for all the family and a real morale building challenge should you choose to accept it. The park requires you to sign a waiver for legal purposes and you will have to provide your own climbing equipment.
